The spectacular landscape and landmarks of Portugal’s capital and Algarve’s breathtaking coastal views offer a perfect backdrop for the fifth movie in the popular After series.
Adapted from Anna Todd’s book series, After Everything: The Final Chapter was released on Netflix on Jan. 11.
The movie follows troubled best-selling author Hardin Scott (Hero Fiennes Tiffin), who is heartbroken after breaking up with his true love and suffering from writer’s block. He heads to Lisbon to make amends with Nathalie (Mimi Keene), a woman he wronged in the past, so he can focus on building a future with Tessa Young (Josephine Langford), the love of his life.
The film rewards viewers with amazing views of Lisbon, including the Tagus River and the maze of medieval buildings and signature white stucco homes with red tiles the city is known for.
Hardin can be seen strolling through historic streets and plazas, frequenting typical restaurants, and even trying a ginginha, a traditional sweet liqueur made from sour cherries soaked in a distilled spirit called aguardente.

Avenida da Liberdade (Lisbon’s most famous avenue), Rossio square and São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint (one of the most romantic spots in the city) are some of the iconic locations Hardin is spotted on.
There are also spectacular views of Algarve’s stunning coastline and beautiful cliff-backed beaches, where Hardin spends some time with Nathalie, enjoying the sun and the region’s crystal-clear waters.
Portuguese viewers will probably recognize Laura Dutra, who plays a flight attendant in the movie. Born in Lisbon, Dutra, 25, is known for her roles in the Portuguese soap operas Sangue Oculto, A Serra and Nazaré.
