During the hour, Tim and Lucy travel to Westview Psychiatric Hospital, where they get locked in a room together and are forced to finally speak the truth (against their will, thanks to them accidentally ingesting sodium pentothal, aka truth serum).
Tim admits to his ex-girlfriend that he ended things with her to punish himself for failing, a lesson he learned from his father. Lucy then points out that he’s not the only one who got hurt in the breakup, which Tim acknowledges. Afterward, Lucy reveals that she has already forgiven Tim, much to her surprise. Consequently, it seems like only one thing stands in the way of Tim and Lucy getting back together in The Rookie season 7 — their respective ranks within the LAPD. If and when Lucy passes the lieutenant’s exam, she and Tim are free to reunite.
