When it comes to CBS’ FBI, no one is safe from a possible write off — including the special agents who anchor the TV show.
Special Agents Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym) and Omar Adom “OA” Zidan (Zeeko Zaki) as well as ASAC Jubal Valentine (Jeremy Sisto) have been part of the series since its 2018 premiere. However, the original SAC Dana Moiser (Sela Ward) only lasted one season before she was replaced by Isobel Castille (Alana De La Garza).
John Boyd joined the cast during season 2 as Special Agent Stuart Scola, and has been on the hunt for the perfect partner ever since.
“It’s been interesting to kind of have this phase of being partner-less,” Boyd exclusively told Us Weekly in January 2025, after losing three TV partners. “We could have a little more speed dating. Someone could drop in. It could be a Cinderella slipper situation. I don’t know.”

Sela Ward
Sela Ward played Special Agent in Charge Dana Moiser during season 1 of the CBS drama. She exited the show during the season 1 finale, which aired in May 2019, having only signed a one-year contract. On the show, her character revealed her exit by telling her team she’d decided to resign.
“So grateful for my time on FBI,” Ward wrote via social media after her departure. “Such a wonderful show with an amazing cast and crew.”
She noted that she planned to take “some time to explore a few exciting new projects,” including working on her painting, which she has continued to do in the years since. Ward has not acted since FBI, instead she’s focused on her philanthropic work, mainly Hope Village for Children.

Ebonee Noel
Ebonée Noel portrayed Special Agent Kristen Chazal beginning with the series debut in 2018. During season 1, Kristen worked as an analyst. She became part of the field team — and Scola’s (John Boyd) partner — for season 2, which ended in 2020. Noel didn’t return for season 3, and her character’s absence was not explained.
Noel, meanwhile, has since starred in the short film Bogo and made a cameo on Harlem in 2021 before she portrayed August King on The Kings of Napa in 2022.

Shantel VanSanten
Shantel VanSanten joined the cast of FBI during season 4 as recurring Special Agent Nina Chase. She saw an increase in episodes during season 5 in 2022, becoming a quick fan favorite after sparking a romance with Scola (John Boyd). VanSanten moved from FBI to spinoff FBI: Most Wanted in 2023, starring as Nina for seasons 5 and 6 when the show ended.
The actress has not returned to FBI in a full-time capacity, but did make cameos during season 6 and 7 as Scola’s longtime girlfriend and the mother of his child. VanSanten has also starred on For All Mankind and The Boys amid her ups and downs with the FBI franchise.

Roshawn Franklin
Roshawn Franklin began playing Special Agent Trevor Hobbs during seasons 2 in 2019. He had a big role on the show through season 5, and was killed off during the season 6 premiere in 2024. During his farewell episode, Hobbs was shot by a terrorist while undercover alongside Special Agent Tiffany Wallace (Katherine Renee Kane).
The actor went on to have a cameo on The Rookie that same year before guest starring on an episode of Tracker.

Katherine Renee Kane
After Ebonée Noel’s unexplained departure at the end of season 2, Katherine Renee Kane stepped in as Scola’s (John Boyd) partner to start season 3. She portrayed Tiffany “Tiff” Wallace from season 3 through 6.
“It was time to look towards new creative endeavors,” Kane told Deadline in August 2024 after news broke of her departure ahead of season 7. “I’m excited for the future and wish the show all the best.”
Tiff was written off the show during the season 7 premiere in October 2024. Viewers learned that she’d given her notice after facing several ups and downs following Hobbs’s death (Roshawn Franklin), which she felt responsible for. Kane didn’t appear in any new projects the rest of the year or in 2025.

Emily Alabi
Halfway through season 7, Emily Alabi joined the show as Special Agent Dani Rhodes. Her first episode aired in April 2025. During the season 8 premiere in October 2025, Dani was part of the team that went to save Maggie (Missy Peregrym) and OA (Zeeko Zaki), who were being held hostage. She was shot during the fire fight and later died in Scola’s (John Boyd) arms.
“To every single person who is part of the FBI family — from our wonderful showrunner Mike Weiss, to all the executive producers, the incredible casting team, the talented writers, cast, crew, and every single person involved — thank you,” Alabi wrote via her Instagram Story after her exit. “Working alongside you all has been an absolute dream. I am beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to bring Dani Rhodes to life and share her with all of you.”
She added: “This experience has meant more to me than words can express, and I am walking forward filled with love, gratitude, and excitement for all that’s ahead. I’m more inspired than ever to continue pushing boundaries and telling stories that move, entertain, and connect us. The best is yet to come — and I can’t wait to share the next adventure with you all.”
