The FBI season 8 fall finale brought a powerful episode about society and the ability to take it down. I’m not sure it needed two hours, but I will say that it was an enjoyable two hours of viewing.
The downside is that the fall finale means the winter break. FBI season 8 will have no more new episodes in 2025, which isn’t all that surprising when you consider the time of year. We’re all busy, and we’re all ready for a break from regular TV. It’s all about spending time with the family, whatever the holiday you celebrate — in our house, it’s Yule, Christmas, and Hogmanay, and I love that we have so many holidays!
There is some good news with the bad, though. We do know when FBI season 8 will return with new episodes, but it is a longer break than we’re used to.

FBI season 8 will return in 2026Empty heading
CBS has already set the return dates for all of its shows. One of those is FBI season 8, but there’s some bad news, as we’re not getting new episodes in January 2026. Sorry, everyone! We have to wait until February.
CBS has confirmed that FBI season 8 episode 11 will air on Monday, Feb. 23 at 9/8c. This is all linked to NBC airing the Winter Olympics throughout most of February. Rather than bring the show back in January and then go on another break, CBS thinks that it’s best to hold off and be more consistent on the other side of the Olympics.
Quite frankly, I agree!
FBI returns as the lead-in to its new spinoffEmpty heading
In some exciting news, FBI isn’t returning alone. The show will be the lead-in for its new spinoff series CIA.
After a bumpy start, CIA is finally getting off the ground, and there is a first-look to introduce the characters. The show will air at 10/9c starting on Monday. Feb. 23.

What can we expect on FBI season 8 episode 11Empty heading
So, when the show is back, what can we expect to see? That’s up in the air, as CBS hasn’t revealed any details for the show. Unlike shows like NCIS: Origins and Matlock that have a clear season-long arc going on, FBI works with its cases of the week at the front and center of each episode. The personal storylines alternate between the characters.
In the fall finale, there was a lot of focus on Jubal, as his son Tyler was hit in the blast and faced an uncertain future. In the episode before that, OA and Gemma broke up after Gemma admitted that she had an emotional affair. It’s hard to say who we’ll see focus on when the show returns, but we’re still hoping for Nina Chase to show up to bring us more of Scola’s personal storyline at home.
FBI season 8 is available to stream on Paramount+ to catch up on.
