ABC Fall Scoop: The Good Doctor, A Million Little Things Set New Series Regulars!
ABC has unveiled some details about some of its returning dramas, and there’s even some casting scoop!
Let’s start with The Good Doctor, which was recently revealed to be the most-watched show in the world.While it’s good to have more Jasika Nicole, TV Line has confirmed that Tamlyn Tomita, who plays Allegra Aoki, will be a recurring player for The Good Doctor Season 3.
ABC has also released the official logline for the new season. “Dr. Shaun Murphy (Freddie Highmore), a young surgeon with autism and savant syndrome, continues to use his extraordinary medical gifts at St. Bonaventure Hospital’s surgical unit,” it reads.
“As his friendships deepen, Shaun works harder than he ever has before as he starts dating, while navigating his environment and relationships to prove to his colleagues that his talents as a surgeon will save lives.”
“The series is from David Shore (“House”), and “Lost” and “Hawaii Five-0” star Daniel Dae Kim.”
The series also stars Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Browne, Nicholas Gonzalez as Dr. Neil Melendez, Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews, Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman, Christina Chang as Dr. Audrey Lim, Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park, and Paige Spara as Lea Dilallo.
Over on A Million Little Things, Chance Hurstfield has been promoted to series regular ahead of Season 2.
Hurstfield recurred on the show’s first season.
ABC has also unveiled the official logline for A Million Little Things Season 2. “When our gang’s dear friend Jon – a man perfect on paper – took his own life, his family and friends were left to pick up the pieces. Each of these friends is not living the version of life they thought they’d be living. And their friend’s death forces them to take a look at the choices they’ve made and to solve the unanswerable mystery of a man they thought they knew.”
“Delilah, now the sole parent to Sophie and Danny, must help her children move forward from their father’s death, while hiding a huge secret of her own. Although she and Eddie are no longer having an affair, she is about to give birth to his baby, a living reminder of their transgressions. To protect their families, they have agreed to say the baby’s father is Jon, a situation made even more impossible when Eddie, trying to save his marriage, decides to tell his wife, Katherine, the truth.”
