It has been more than 40 years since George Lucas changed our world forever and introduced us to a cast of characters that are now so beloved we can’t imagine a galaxy without them – Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo, the dreaded Sith Lord, Darth Vader and the formidable Rebel Leader, Princess Leia.

Original Trilogy

Star Wars: A New Hope (1977)

Where it all began… In Star Wars: A New Hope, we meet Luke Skywalker as he is thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance after a chance meeting with Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has lived for years in seclusion on the desert planet of Tatooine. Obi-Wan begins Luke’s Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the rebel leader Princess Leia and rid the galaxy of the evil Empire.

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Imperial forces continue to pursue Princess Leia and her band of rebels. After their defeat on the ice planet Hoth, Luke journeys to Dagobah to finish his training with Jedi Master Yoda, who has lived in hiding since the fall of the Republic. In an attempt to convert Luke to the dark side, Darth Vader lures him into a trap in the Cloud City of Bespin. It is here in the midst of a fierce lightsaber duel that Luke faces a startling revelation.

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983)

In Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the Empire prepares to crush the Rebellion with a more powerful Death Star while the Rebel fleet mounts an attack on the space station. Meanwhile in order to restore freedom to the galaxy Luke Skywalker confronts Darth Vader in a final climatic duel before the evil Emperor.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999)

In Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Queen Amidala is stranded on the desert plant Tatooine with Jedi apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn after saving her from the impending invasion of her home planet, Naboo. Whilst looking for a way to safety they discover nine-year-old Anakin Skywalker, a young slave who is unusually strong in the Force. In order to train him in the ways of the Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn attempts to gain Anakin’s freedom and return to Naboo to face a deadly foe named Darth Maul, a sith lord strong with the dark side of the force.

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2002)

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones sees the galaxy on the brink of civil war. Under the leadership of a renegade Jedi named Count Dooku, thousands of solar systems threaten to break away from the Galactic Republic. When an assassination attempt is made on Senator Padmé Amidala, the former Queen of Naboo, Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker is assigned to protect her. During his mission, Anakin discovers his love for Padmé as well as his own darker side. Soon, our heroes are drawn into the heart of the Separatist movement and the beginning of the Clone Wars.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005)

In Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, the Jedi Knights lead a massive clone army into a galaxy-wide battle against the Separatists. When the sinister Sith unveil a thousand-year-old plot to rule the galaxy, the Republic crumbles and from its ashes rises the evil Galactic Empire. The Jedi are decimated, as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Jedi Master Yoda are forced into hiding, Jedi hero Anakin Skywalker is seduced by the dark side of the Force and becomes the Emperor’s new apprentice; Darth Vader. The only hope for the galaxy is Anakin’s own offspring, twin children born in secrecy.

Sequel Trilogy

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Luke Skywalker is nowhere to be found and The Frist Order has risen from the ashes of the Empire. Led by Supreme Leader Snoke and his dark side enforcer, Kylo Ren they seek to destroy the last embers of the Resistance. But General Leia Organa and the Resistance won’t go down without a fight as they seek to destroy the most powerful weapon the galaxy has ever seen and thwart a new reign of evil.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

Star Wars: The Last Jedi sees the evil First Order reign over the galaxy as Supreme Leader Snoke looks to crush what’s left of the Resistance. The galaxy’s only hope survives in the hands of Luke Skywalker, a legendary Jedi Master and an untrained Rey who is strong in the Force. Together they may just change the tide of war.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019)

No one’s ever really gone… Rey’s journey continues and the Skywalker saga concludes in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. New legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016)

Here we meet Jyn Erso and a group of unlikely heroes as the take on a mission to steal the plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction, the Death Star. It’s a mission thwart with danger and one that ultimately will lead us to the events of Star Wars: A New Hope and set Luke on his path to becoming a Jedi.

Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

Solo: A Star Wars Story takes us on an adventure into the galaxy’s criminal underworld and the origins of Han Solo. Discover how his friendship with copilot Chewbacca began, how he took ownership of the Millennium Falcon and why making the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs is such a legendary feat.
