A Special Addition Joins ‘Chicago Fire’s Firehouse 51 in New Season 13 Images
Spooky 13 is a theme of Chicago Fire Season 13 as ghosts from several characters’ pasts are revealed, according to showrunner Andrea Newman. Sam Carver has traveled to Texas to find his ghost and bring it back. But in Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 7, Carver finds himself alone when Tori disappears along with all of her belongings. However, that situation may not last long, according to some new images released by NBC from Episode 8, “Quicksand.” As teased in the episode’s trailer below, the preview image features Carver’s new friend, a dog he takes care of after his owner is injured.
Most of the images above show the fire department responding to an emergency where a machine injures a man. It appears that his leg is stuck inside a lawn mower, which is a dangerous place for anything that isn’t grass. Several images show first responders sharing knowing, worried glances. The victim also had a dog, which Carver was fond of, as one image shows Carver petting it. The final image of the dog shows him in the fire station, where Carver has taken charge of it.
Dogs are often used to keep lonely characters company. It’s often a plot device that makes them realize their loneliness. If anyone could use a companion, it’s Carver. With Tori in the wind and his relationship with Violet on the rocks, there aren’t many people Carver can trust. His family is in Texas, and even if they lived nearby, he wouldn’t want to have much to do with them, given how they’ve treated him in the past.
Other images from inside the firehouse feature Joe, who is being visited by ghosts from his past, according to the trailer for the fall finale. He holds an unused bullet as she hands it to someone who looks like Cap. He doesn’t appear shocked; he’s more confused, hinting that he might know who it came from. With a reminder of his past with Leon and his brother’s involvement with gangs, he could be back for a favor or two.
Tune in to “Quicksand” to see how Carver’s story with the dog plays out and find out who’s threatening Joe. The episode airs Wednesday, November 20 on NBC. Stream previous episodes on Peacock.
