A Royal Reunion: Leonard and Penny Reignite the Magic in New Commercial

The whole universe just re-entered a hot, dense state. Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco, co-stars of The Big Bang Theory, reunited in a new commercial for the mobile video game Royal Kingdom.

In a video shared by the Royal Kingdom Instagram account, fans get 60 seconds of screen-time with Cuoco and Galecki in the Royal Kingdom advert. The commercial sees the actors, who played Leonard and Penny Hofstadter, looking forward to a typical board game night before Galecki suggests Royal Kingdom as an alternative.

Chaos then ensues, with the pair tossing board games, Wi-Fi, and credit cards away in celebration of the free-to-play offline-compatible game. The pair’s appearance marks the first time the two have shared the screen since the sitcom’s finale. The commercial isn’t just a reunion for The Big Bang Theory, it’s Galecki’s first acting role on screen since 2019.

Both Actors Had A Blast Filming The Commercial

Galecki has only appeared as David Healy in two episodes of The Conners Season 2 since The Big Bang Theory ended. Based on an Instagram interaction between him and Cuoco, the commercial was a special occasion for both of them. “This was so fun to shoot! Back together with my buddy JG,” Cuoco wrote. “I adored this day with you, my dear. XO!” Galecki responded.

Meanwhile, Cuoco has been rather prolific since The Big Bang Theory concluded, starring in Max’s The Flight Attendant and Peacock’s Based on a True Story. She is currently attached to two upcoming projects, namely, the HBO comedy Kansas City Star from the Emmy-winning team behind Max’s Hacks, and the mystery thriller Vanished co-starring Sam Claflin from Daisy Jones & the Six.

The Royal Kingdom commercial gives fans a chance to see the two actors together again, six years after they last appeared as their characters on the CBS sitcom.
