A Farewell Letter from Sylvie Brett

To Firehouse 51 – and to everyone who has always believed in me… 💌

If Sylvie Brett could say goodbye from her heart, this is probably what she’d write. A letter not just to her colleagues – but straight to the hearts of Chicago Fire fans.

To my dearest family at Firehouse 51, and to all the hearts that have been with me on this journey,

It’s hard to put these feelings into words, as every single one carries so much emotion. When I first stepped into Firehouse 51, I was just a young woman with a passionate heart and a little bit of fear. I didn’t know what I’d find, but I found a home.

You all—from Chief Boden with his wisdom and warmth, Kelly with his strength and the way he always stands by his friends, to Mouch’s endless laughter, Ritter’s dedication, Gallo’s perseverance, and everyone else—you all taught me more than any textbook ever could. You taught me the true meaning of courage, not just when rushing into a burning building, but when facing life’s losses and challenges. You taught me that family doesn’t have to be blood, but the people who are always there when you need them most.

For me, every emergency call wasn’t just a task; it was an opportunity to connect, to bring a little bit of hope, a little peace amidst the most chaotic moments. I’ve cried with you, laughed with you, and learned that even in the darkest moments, there’s always a glimmer of hope.

And to all of you, the incredible fans of Chicago Fire. Thank you for making a place for me in your hearts. Thank you for cheering me on, for worrying with me, and for feeling every emotion alongside me through every season. Your love and support have been a huge motivation, helping me stand strong on this path.

I know life always leads us to new paths. And now, as I step into a new chapter, I carry with me all the memories, the lessons, and the love that Firehouse 51 has given me. A part of me will forever belong here, to this family.

Promise me you’ll keep the flame alive, maintain that strong sense of teamwork, and continue to be the heroes this city needs. Take care of each other.

Goodbye, and thank you for everything.

With all my love and gratitude,

Sylvie Brett.
