The Golden Bachelorette‘s Chock Chapple is getting candid about his sex life with Joan Vassos.
The couple, who met and got engaged on The Golden Bachelorette’s inaugural season, appeared on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a conversation about love and dating with host Drew Barrymore and guest Oliver Hudson.
Since getting engaged on the ABC series, Chapple has learned a lot about his fiancée, including her tendency to “spend an hour looking for a parking spot.” He also learned not to take her cell phone charger “under any circumstances” and that she likes to pick out his clothes.
While there were no red flags there, they revealed what the most challenging part of their relationship has been.
“We knew as mature adults what we were getting into,” Chapple said. “We knew that we were going to live at other places for the time being. So the only challenge, really, right now, is the travel. Besides that, it’s all good. But we’ve been seeing each other almost every week.”
As for what they were looking for in a relationship, Chapple said, “The importance of family, your morality, your ethics, your compatibility. I use that ‘c’ word all the time. You’ve got to be compatible.”
“They all go, ‘Well, you guys still having sex?’ Yes. Every chance we get,” he added.
Vassos, for her part, explained why she feels so comfortable talking about her sex life.
“We did choose to go on this dating show and if we want to be really authentic about what the journey looks like and what the relationship looks like now, that’s an important part of it,” she said. “To shy away from that and say I don’t want to embarrass my family or whatever, it’s just not being fair to the process.”
“So I encourage talking about it. It’s an important part of a relationship,” she continued. “Otherwise he’s just my friend. And I have lots of friends.”
