Susan Noles Shuts Down Romance Rumors: Why Jack Lencioni Isn’t ‘The One’

Susan Noles, 67, a fan-favorite from The Golden Bachelor, is clearing the air about her relationship status after speculation about a romance with Jack Lencioni, a contestant from Joan Vassos’ season of The Golden Bachelorette. Despite spending time together, Noles revealed on the January 22 episode of iHeart Radio’s I Do, Part 2 podcast that she and Lencioni are not romantically involved.

“God bless Jack,” Noles shared. “The world thought, ‘Susan and Jack.’ Jack likes to cook like I do. We did meet, and he’d be a great friend.”

Why Susan and Jack Aren’t a Match

Noles, who is known for her vivacious personality, elaborated on why she and Lencioni didn’t click romantically.

“We’re both loud, we’re both Italian, and we both like to cook,” she said. “We’re both funny at times. But two of the same as me may be not so good.”

On her Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast, which she co-hosts with former castmate Kathy Swarts, Noles reiterated her stance.

“[Jack’s] a great guy. I could see us cooking together, laughing together,” she said. “But the chemistry wasn’t there. You need to have chemistry. You can’t force it. He was fun, but he wasn’t my guy. I consider him my friend.”

Susan’s Search for Love Continues

Although romance with Jack wasn’t in the cards, Noles is still open to finding love. She has been candid about her dating experiences since appearing on The Golden Bachelor.

In May, she told PEOPLE about meeting a man while shopping at Marshalls. “He bought a new home and was looking for things he needed. He asked to take a selfie,” she said, laughing. “I can’t go grocery shopping without somebody recognizing [me]. And this is Philly, the City of Brotherly Love. We all know everybody here.”

The two went on a few dates and remained in contact, though Noles admitted it wasn’t a serious connection. “He’s a nice person and we hang out from time to time,” she said in August. “I don’t think it’s anything crazy serious, but it’s good.”

Where Are the Suitors?

Despite her national TV debut, Noles joked that her post-Golden Bachelor dating life hasn’t been as busy as she expected.

“Everybody said, ‘Oh, you’re going to get so many DMs, and men are going to be hitting you up,’” she told PEOPLE. “It does not happen. I don’t know if I’m too old or I’m too big of a personality, but yeah, no.”

Still, Noles remains optimistic. With her charm, humor, and openness to new experiences, it’s only a matter of time before the right person comes along.
