True Big Bang Theory fans are freaking out over the fact that their favorite characters’ ages were revealed.
The 2007 sitcom aired for 12 seasons on CBS and has released two spin-offs, Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. During an episode of Young Sheldon, fans noticed that the credit scenes revealed each character’s age, giving them a timeline on how old they were on the Bing Bang Theory.
The credit scene stated: “Isaac Harger as Eight-Year-Old Leonard, Quinn Aune as Four-Year-Old Penny, Rishabh Prabhat as Nine-Year-Old Koothrappali, Ethan Stern as Nine-Year-Old Howard, AJ Coggeshall as Five-Year-Old Bernadette and Lily Sanfelippo as Eleven-Year-Old Amy.”
A user on Reddit posted the screengrab with users putting the pieces together.
One person commented: “That makes Amy a lot older than the other girls.. I didnt know, I thought Penny was 8 or 9 in that scene.” Another person wrote: “So that means in season 1 of Big Bang (I know not all characters were in the show yet, the ages where). Amy – 29 Sheldon – 28 Howard – 27 Raj – 27 Leonard – 26 Bernadette – 23 Penny – 22. If my math is correct.” A third user wrote: “Interesting… This is from season 2 I believe, so that makes Sheldon the same age as Leonard, a year younger than Raj and Howard, and three years younger than Amy.” A fourth wrote: “I always thought it was clear Amy was the oldest and Penny was the youngest in the group.”
The Big Bang Theory starred Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Johnny Galecki as Leonard Hofstadter, Simon Helberg as Howard Wolowitz, Mayim Bialik as Amy Farrah Fowler and others. The show follows the lives of a group of scientists, which included physicists, astrophysicists and aerospace engineers, and watching them explore the friendships, romances and themselves.
The show aired for 279 episodes over 12 seasons, with Young Sheldon becoming the first spinoff from the series. The show follows Sheldon Cooper’s life as a child prodigy in the fictional town of Medford, Texas.
