The Big Bang Theory star shares return hopes ahead of new spin-off

The Big Bang Theory star Mayim Bialik has revealed her return hopes as a new spin-off takes shape.

The actor played Amy Farrah Fowler from season 3 to the finale of Big Bang, and she reprised the role occasionally in prequel series Young Sheldon.

That show was spun off into another spin-off, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which premiered in the US in October. A fourth Big Bang universe show, focusing on comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, is in the works.

Given that the series would be set in the present day rather than working as a prequel, Bialik has stated that she would like to join co-stars like Kevin Sussman and Lauren Lapkins and return to the franchise.

“I would 100% reprise Amy,” she told TV Line. “I have no qualms about that. I think it would be fantastic.”

Would it actually happen, though? It’s entirely possible, especially after Young Sheldon, but she admitted that she learned about the spin-0ff through an online news article and hasn’t received a call about appearing yet.

Whether this new spin-off will feature a Big Bang reunion, or if producers will try and make one happen for another project, Sheldon actor Jim Parsons isn’t interested in the idea for the time being.

“As we sit here now, no. But also I never say never to anything, because life just changes so much,” he said.

“One of the things is that it was so special as what it was and as what it is, and they call it lightning in a bottle for a reason. You can be certain [a revival] wouldn’t be that, and so why would we be doing it?”

“I don’t know, that’s that’s how I feel on that right now,” he added. “But like I say, God willing, life is very long.”
