The Queen Charlotte Prequel Series Can Finally Solve One Bridgerton Mystery

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will answer a lot of questions about Queen Charlotte’s life, as well as solving one big Bridgerton mystery.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will explore Queen Charlotte’s young life, and solve a major Bridgerton relationship mystery. Bridgerton has so far depicted a tough relationship between the Queen and King George, often leaving her isolated due to King George’s mental health issues. However, it is clear to see how much they love each other and Netflix’s prequel on Queen Charlotte will finally explore the Royals’ relationship including how it started, how they fell in love, and some classic Bridgerton torment too. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will also show the young Queen’s rise from a headstrong teenager, to the confident and powerful Queen she is in Bridgerton.

Starring India Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest as Young Queen Charlotte and Young King George, the cast of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will feature a mix of new and familiar faces. Queen Charlotte’s prequel will switch between her younger days and the Bridgerton timeline, where her friendship with Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton will be spotlighted. Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton will also be seen as their younger selves, showing audiences much more of these key characters’ lives, and massively developing their Bridgerton stories.

Queen Charlotte And Lady Danbury’s Friendship Will Finally Be Explained
Including young Lady Danbury will mean Queen Charlotte’s and Lady Danbury’s friendship will finally be explained in the Bridgerton prequel. In Bridgerton, Lady Danbury is the only person who Queen Charlotte treats as an equal and obviously has a lot of respect for. It is assumed they have been friends for a long time, but it is never explained how Lady Danbury became such a trusted friend of the Queen’s. Queen Charlotte has a lot of subjects and other friends, but even close friends like Violet Bridgerton are not treated quite the same as Lady Danbury, so Queen Charlotte’s prequel will finally be able to explain the reason behind this.

The Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story trailer reveals that Lady Danbury is Queen Charlotte’s Lady-In-Waiting and is a key part of her moving to England and marrying the King. From the few clips given, Lady Danbury can be seen giving advice on uniting the two kingdoms, being a supportive figure for the Queen, and essentially acting as her closest friend. Their friendship is built on mutual understanding and respect, and the Bridgerton prequel will show how this was gained on both sides, their importance to each other, and how Lady Danbury was key in making Queen Charlotte who she is in Bridgerton.

Why Lady Danbury Is So Important To Queen Charlotte
Amarteifio revealed (via Essence) that Queen Charlotte and Lady Danbury’s relationship is so special because of how Lady Danbury helps Queen Charlotte realize her power and is the reason she successfully united the two Kingdoms. However, Lady Danbury and Queen Charlotte’s friendship is much more personal than that, and it is evident that Lady Danbury can understand the needs of the Queen without ever saying anything. A major reason for this, as Shonda Rhimes revealed (via NY Breaking), is because of Lady Danbury’s personal teaching of Queen Charlotte, in marriage and being a woman.

Lady Danbury, who is married to a sex-obsessed older man in the Bridgerton prequel, becomes a teacher to Queen Charlotte. Lady Danbury teaches her about the world and society they live in outside the palace, about sex and marriage, and helps her get past her naivety to inspire real power and confidence. Lady Danbury becomes someone who knows Queen Charlotte’s vulnerabilities and helps her outgrow them. Their friendship is important as it shows a different type of relationship in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story but one that is just as important as any romantic relationship, as well as finally solving a major Bridgerton mystery of how the friendship came to be.
