The 2025 One Chicago Crossover Is Coming—But Fans Want a Law & Order Twist!

The long-awaited One Chicago crossover is finally on the horizon! After nearly five years without a major crossover event, the stars of Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med will reunite in 2025 for a thrilling three-part storyline. Set to air on January 29, the special event centers on the aftermath of a devastating gas explosion in Chicago that places two beloved characters in serious danger.

NBC recently teased the highly anticipated crossover with a cryptic yet thrilling promotional video on social media. Featuring a ticking clock and glimpses of cast members from all three shows, the video has fans buzzing with excitement. But amidst the cheers for One Chicago, fans of Dick Wolf’s Law & Order universe have voiced their desire to be part of the action, asking for a crossover that bridges the two iconic franchises.

A Reunion of Chicago’s Finest

The upcoming One Chicago crossover promises to deliver the action, drama, and teamwork that fans love. With characters like Kelly Severide (Chicago Fire), Hank Voight (Chicago P.D.), and Sharon Goodwin (Chicago Med) joining forces, viewers can expect high-stakes scenarios and emotional reunions.

Fans are particularly excited to see Sharon Goodwin again after Chicago Med’s bloody Season 8 finale. The crossover also shakes up NBC’s usual Wednesday lineup, with Chicago Fire airing at 8 p.m. ET, Chicago Med at 9 p.m. ET, and Chicago P.D. wrapping up the night at 10 p.m. ET.

Law & Order Fans Want Their Turn

While the One Chicago fandom celebrates, fans of Law & Order are clamoring for a similar crossover within their own universe—or even a collaboration between the One Chicago and Law & Order franchises. The two worlds are canonically connected, thanks to a 2014 crossover between Chicago P.D. and Law & Order: SVU.

Social media has been buzzing with requests for more inter-franchise crossovers. Comments on the promotional video include calls for Olivia Benson (Law & Order: SVU) to reunite with Hank Voight and demands for Elliot Stabler (Law & Order: Organized Crime) to finally share the screen with his former partner, Benson.

On X (formerly Twitter), fans have floated the idea of a mega-crossover that includes all nine shows in the Dick Wolf TV universe: the Chicago trilogy, the Law & Order series, and the FBI franchise. One user aptly called it the “One Wolf” crossover, envisioning an unprecedented event that unites characters across networks and storylines.

Is a Mega-Crossover Possible?

While a nine-show crossover may sound like a logistical challenge, it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility. Characters have already crossed over between networks, such as Chicago P.D.’s Detective Hailey Upton appearing on CBS’s FBI.

For now, however, One Chicago fans are content to focus on the January 29 crossover, which promises to deliver the high-energy drama that has made the franchise a fan favorite. Meanwhile, Law & Order viewers can look forward to the winter premieres of SVU and the original series on January 16, with a release date for Organized Crime Season 5 on Peacock still pending.

As for the FBI series, they’ll return to CBS on January 27, just in time to join the midseason lineup of Wolf Entertainment dramas. Whether a mega-crossover is in the cards remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: the Wolf TV universe continues to dominate primetime.
