Tom Selleck claims his body has left him ‘down’ but he refuses to dye his hair and works on his farm doing ‘hard labour’
Despite his body gradually aging and “failing him”, Tom Selleck seems to have swallowed the elixir of immortality. At the age of 77, the actor admits that like his father, he is full of energy and joy – he refuses to dye his hair and continues to work on the farm.
Tom Selleck, at age 77, is surprisingly agile in both his professional and personal life. The Hollywood celebrity began his career as a popular series actor, initially appearing as a private investigator on “Magnum P.I.”
More than two decades later, in the hit cr1me series “Blue Bloods,” he played New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan.
Although there is speculation that Selleck will leave the show, a source said he is “tired of the boredom of Hollywood.” However, CBS announced that the show will return for a 13th season with the male lead actor.
Selleck’s statement about his tenure on the show bolstered accusations that the “Blue Bloods” star had no concept of retirement. “But it was a blessing!” he exclaimed. “I like what I do and want to keep doing it.”
Although determined to continue performing, the 77-year-old man still spoke frankly about the difficulties he encountered.
In a retrospective interview, Selleck discussed his health, including when he felt his body was in great shape, how his body let him down, and his attitude he to aging.
Tom Selleck Says His Body “Let Him Down”
The fan-favorite “Blue Bloods” star didn’t hesitate to discuss his aging experience, including his health struggles and his thoughts on stunts.
While addressing the allegations, Selleck opened up about how he feels about being an older man. While discussing the changes he has undergone, the actor also discussed what he does to keep the aging process healthy.
Selleck says his body changes in ways that feel strange as he ages. This was as a result of previous stunts throughout his career. In his own words:
“Well, it frustrates me in that I can’t or won’t do what I used to do… My back is terrible. When you do stunts in movies – and I do a lot of them – you take risks, but you also have to sit a lot.”
Selleck asserted that it was unusual not only for him but also for his friends whose careers revolved around stunts. He noted that at the time, the stunts didn’t seem difficult but that was just the price to pay for years of passion. He stated that:
“And I think about the price – I see it with colleagues and I talk to them from time to time.” Just look at the cost of all those stunts. They’re not difficult, but I guess everything is stop-and-go.”

Despite addressing reports regarding his absence from the CBS series, the gossip mills gave another take on his deteriorating health. According to the allegations, Selleck suffered from osteoarthritis and a stuntman was hired to replace him. According to source:
“Macho Tom is disintegrating right before our eyes.”
Again, Selleck wanted to deny these allegations; in a heart-to-heart chat with G.Q., he stated that he maintains a balanced and healthy lifestyle and works hard on his farm. He declared:
“I don’t like going to the gym.” I have a 63-acre farm where I do a lot of the heavy lifting. Plant trees and clear bushes. I planted about a hundred ancient oak trees for us. “I’m sure I’ve planted a thousand trees.”
While addressing the allegations, Selleck opened up about how he feels about being an older man. While discussing the changes he has undergone, the actor also discussed what he does to keep the aging process healthy.
Although he is familiar with golf, it is not his favorite sport; he only played because his father asked him to. Selleck had a close relationship with his father and as an adult, he considered himself a misfit from the old mold. When asked about his similarities with his father, he said:
“I’m becoming more like him. I hear you
Selleck refuses to dye her hair and prefers to keep her hair natural.
Selleck is a person who is satisfied with the way things are and unwilling to adjust his beliefs to fit any societal narrative or norm. Up to now, the actor is satisfied with his salt-and-pepper hair. The 77-year-old man enjoys his reality and would rather enjoy it than sacrifice his beliefs about old age.
Despite pressure from others, he still bravely explained that he had never dyed his hair. Interestingly, Selleck considers his hair color more of a blessing than a curse. Selleck revealed:
“One thing I didn’t do was dye my hair.” I’m tired of hearing that I dye my hair! Here it is, man. I have gray hair there. Going gray is a blessing at my age because it alleviates all the other terrible things it does to you, but it is what it is.”
Indeed, the “Blue Bloods” star showed that he is not only determined to maintain his appearance but also wants it to be accepted. During his time on the show, he admitted that he asked his makeup artist to add some gray hair to his mustache. He declared.
“But the digital cameras they used on the show didn’t even show that.” But I’m getting grayer, which is a great thing.”
On screen, Selleck is very similar to his character Frank Reagan. Both guys have work experience, are dedicated and know how to defend their opinions.
Additionally, the 77-year-old actor exuded optimism, proving that his positive outlook on life has benefited his health and aided his aging process naturally.
