Joan, 61, a widow from Rockville, Maryland, and Chock, 60, an insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas, found themselves drawn to each other amid 24 senior bachelors vying for Joan’s heart. Their engagement, sealed with an emerald-cut diamond ring on the beach, marked the beginning of their journey, but their story began even before that.
A Love Born in Paradise and Strengthened Through Challenges
Their first date at Disneyland had set the tone for their relationship, with Joan and Chock bonding over shared experiences and moments of joy. Both had faced personal tragedies—Joan lost her husband, John, to pancreatic cancer in 2021, while Chock’s fiancée, Kathy, passed away from cancer in 2022.
