10 Things In Queen Charlotte That Are Very Important For Bridgerton Season 3

Queen Charlotte has delved into Bridgerton’s history and added more depth to many characters, this will need to be continued in Bridgerton season 3.

10. Queen Charlotte & King George’s Love Story Continues
Queen Charlotte finally answered many questions about the relationship between King George and Queen Charlotte. It shows how hard their marriage was in the beginning, and continues to be, but how their love makes it all worth it. King George’s character has been more established now, so it can be expected for him to appear more in season 3.

9. Violet Bridgerton Wants To Find A New Romance
The older ladies of Bridgerton have only been shown as matchmakers of the Ton or in storylines related to their children. Violet Bridgerton revealed in Queen Charlotte that she is open to romance once again so it is important this is explored in season 3.

8. Eloise & Penelope Are Still Fighting (& It’s Big Enough For Violet To Know)
The end of Bridgerton season 2 saw Eloise find out that Penelope was Lady Whistledown. After many of the publications had affected Eloise’s family, the pair’s friendship ended badly and they stopped speaking to each other.

7. Eloise Is A Lot Like Young Violet: What That Means For Her Story
Queen Charlotte had some focus on a young Violet before she was “out” to the Ton. Young Violet was shown to love the social side of their life, unlike Eloise, but also showed how defiant she was. Her mother was very against “The Great Experiment” in Queen Charlotte, but Violet consistently disagreed with her mother and defied the social norms.

6. Kate and Anthony Are On Their Honeymoon

Violet also told Lady Danbury in Queen Charlotte that Kate and Anthony are on their honeymoon after their marriage in season 2 of Bridgerton. Although Kate and Anthony are both returning for season 3, the mention of them being away on their honeymoon raises the question of how heavily they will feature.

5. Brimsley and Reynolds’s Are Not Together
A new relationship was introduced in Queen Charlotte between Brimsley and Reynolds, the Kings man and the Queens man. It is the first homosexual relationship in the Bridgerton universe and touched slightly on the hardships they would face if they were found out. In Queen Charlotte, Brimsley and Reynolds were shown dancing together before it cut to an older Brimsley dancing on his own, suggesting they are not together.

4. The Future Queen Victoria Exists
The Bridgerton universe is a fictitious story based on historical fact and Charlotte and George are based on the real King George and Queen Charlotte of England. At the end of Queen Charlotte, the line of succession is secured when one of Queen Charlotte’s children announces they are expecting a child. This child, in history, would go on to be Queen Victoria.

3. Lady Whistledown Is Still Publishing
Lady Whistledown did not feature as heavily in Queen Charlotte as Penelope did not exist when Queen Charlotte and King George were young. However, Queen Charlotte did show Lady Whistledown was still publishing when showing scenes of the Queen in the Bridgerton time period. Despite the fight with Eloise, this shows Penelope is still going strong as Lady Whistledown relationship which will not help their friendship in season 3. Plus, Penelope’s secret identity is likely to become an issue as she and Colin’s develop, and Penelope is unable to hide her Lady Whistledown identity.

2. Queen Charlotte’s Children Are Established Characters
Queen Charlotte’s children were rarely mentioned in Bridgerton but Queen Charlotte has established them all as characters. Although Queen Charlotte never matched them together with the Ton’s diamonds in Bridgerton, the events of Queen Charlotte may mean they are all looking for marriage, which would secure the line of succession even more if they had more children. Queen Charlotte has pushed them to marry high society so they may feature in season 3 and in the Ton more often, especially the Prince Regent, who is the technical ruler of England.

1. Penelope Has Links Inside The Royal Household
Lady Whistledown’s success rides on Penelope’s ability to acquire gossip and Queen Charlotte has shown she is able to retrieve information from inside the Royal Household. Queen Charlotte showed Lady Whistledown reporting on the Princess Royal’s death, which could have been public news, but also on the Queen’s determination to secure an heir. This means Penelope has sources inside the castle. She could be hearing gossip from servants as she has done previously, but Penelope could have a direct source which makes her an even bigger threat to the Queen. This would have to be explored in Bridgerton season 3 as Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story has shown how connected Lady Whistledown really is.
