Golden Bachelor producers slammed for pushing ‘scared’ Gerry to do ‘illegal’ activity
Fans are slamming The Golden Bachelor’s producers for pushing their first senior Bachelor Gerry Turner to do ‘illegal’ things on the new show.
The Golden Bachelor fans are already fiercely protective of the first-ever senior Bachelor, Gerry Turner, and the 12 remaining women vying for his heart.
They love that he’s endearing, vulnerable, and genuine, but now they’re having to protect the 72-year-old for another reason after Thursday’s episode.
Viewers are slamming the producers of ABC’s new Bachelor spin-off for pushing Turner to do “illegal” activity.
Starting the episode off, Turner took Theresa, who celebrated her 70th birthday with a cake-smudged kiss with Gerry on opening night, to the nostalgic 50s diner Cadillac Jacks Cafe.
He picked her up in a classic convertible and the ride started out smoothly but turned potentially dangerous.

Gerry was ‘scared’ of doing illegal activity on The Golden Bachelor. Turner realized the convertible sports car didn’t have headlights.
The episode took a scary turn when Turner, an Iowa native, navigated crowded California highways for the first time ever with faulty headlights.
Theresa reached out and gave her date a reassuring touch on the shoulder.
As Turner drove down th highway, he gripped the wheel and was visibly uncomfortable, even “terrified.”
Thankfully the couple reached the diner safely.
Fans were shocked that the illegal activity was allowed, especially with how scared the grandfather looked.
He technically broke the law driving without headlights on.

In California, the consequences for breaking Vehicle Code 24250 VC include a $230 fine and a point on the person’s driving record.
Fans of the show have already complained about the horrible living arrangements for the 22 women in the mansion.
They couldn’t believe the senior women were made to sleep in bunkbeds fit for little girls.
Sandra revealed in a clip that she couldn’t sleep on the top bunk because of her two knee replacements.
“This is elder abuse, those beds are literally plastic camp mattresses,” someone commented on the Instagram post.
Another wrote: “C’mon ABC – These are women of leisure and life – Not broke 20-somethings that have slumber parties – Please supply some glam fixes.”
Now, fans are bemoaning the producers for putting Turner and his date in a dangerous situation.
“Bunk beds??? Making Gerry drive on an LA highway with no headlights?? What is the matter with you ABC,” one person wrote on Twitter.
Another chimed in: “You literally had YEARS to plan for a #GoldenBachelor and episode two you put the women in bunk beds and have the 70-year-old bachelor drive down the highway without headlights?”
The viewers were concerned for Turner, with one adding: “Poor [Gerry]…why did they set him up with the car? He’s so nice…why not have a driver for them? [Gerry] is out of his comfort zone! He feels small and Magoo-ish on his first date. So wrong.”
“Y’all need to get Gerry a driver,” another person wrote.
Turner wasn’t the only person in the car who was worried; Theresa later shared her thoughts of the headlight situation with the camera.
She said: “The wind is ripping through my hair, the head nights are not working… I hope this is the worst part of the date because right now I’m scared to death.”
Later, Turner told the camera that Theresa helped calm him down in the scary moment: “This is my first time driving on a California freeway and Theresa reaches over and puts her hand on my shoulder and I felt calm,” he said.
