Tensions flared between contestants of The Golden Bachelorette ahead of the season finale, leading to a public apology from Pascal Ibgui to fellow contestant Chock Chapple. Following his departure from the show on October 30, Pascal made headlines for his harsh words about Chock in an interview with Glamour.
During the interview, Pascal shared candid thoughts about Chock’s behavior, which he described as obsessive. “Chock was all over her to the point where he was [like a] stalker. I mean, it was like, ‘I love you, let’s leave. Let’s do this, let’s do that.’ And ‘which side of the bed are you sleeping on?’ It’s bizarre behavior,” Pascal said, referencing their group date with Joan during the season’s fifth episode. His comments sparked concern and debate among Bachelor Nation fans.
On November 10, Pascal took to Instagram to make amends. In a heartfelt video, he addressed the controversy and apologized to Chock directly. “I wanted to make this video because I want to thank Bachelor Nation for including me in the first season of The Golden Bachelorette. It was an incredible experience, and I got to meet some amazing men,” Pascal began. He continued, “But the most important thing is that I want to apologize to Chock. Calling him a stalker was out of line, inappropriate, uncalled for, and definitely the wrong use of the word. So please, Chock, accept my apology.”
Pascal also expressed his support for the upcoming season finale, wishing Chock and Joan the best. “I’ll be tuning in and wishing the best of luck,” he said, adding, “Thank you to Bachelor Nation for the amazing time we shared. I will always be a part of it, and I’m so grateful.”
While Chock has yet to publicly respond, he seemed unaffected by Pascal’s remarks. He posted an image of himself and Joan enjoying their time in Tahiti, promoting the finale, which aired on November 13.
