Joan Vassos’ Candid Thoughts: Will Golden Bachelor in Paradise Have Enough Singles?

Rumors of a potential Golden Bachelor in Paradise season have captured fans’ imaginations, but Joan Vassos, star of The Golden Bachelorette, is expressing doubts about its feasibility. While Joan has found love with Chock Chapple and has been busy playing matchmaker for fellow cast members, she’s not entirely convinced that a spin-off season would work.

Joan, who rose to fame as the first Golden Bachelorette, has been proactive in connecting her former co-stars. She even tried to set up Leslie Fhima with Jordan Heller, demonstrating her desire to see others find love. But when it comes to Golden Bachelor in Paradise, Joan is raising some red flags.

“I think like at least five of them have girlfriends and are matched up, so I think the pool of people ready to go on a Golden Bachelor in Paradise season may be smaller than what we were thinking,” Joan shared candidly.

While she acknowledged that some of the relationships from The Golden Bachelor and The Golden Bachelorette might not last, Joan’s concern centers around whether there would be enough singles to fill out a cast. “I don’t know if all these relationships will work out, if these are just new romances and may fizzle out,” she added. “But right now, if you were going to have a Paradise soon, I think we might have a hard time finding enough participants.”

Joan’s skepticism comes at a time when many of the contestants from The Golden Bachelorette and The Golden Bachelor have already found love. Mark Anderson, a fan favorite, is reportedly dating actress Barbara Alyn Woods, while Jonathan Rone is happily coupled up with Michelle Zimmerman. These developments suggest that the pool of potential contestants might be smaller than expected.

Despite the challenges, Joan hasn’t stopped playing matchmaker. She revealed in an October 23 interview that her behind-the-scenes efforts to connect her fellow cast members have been well-received. “I’ve already made a match. I’ve tried two. One is working,” she said, hinting at the excitement and positive responses she’s received from the contestants. “You should see the texts I get from these ladies,” she added with a smile.

Joan’s insight suggests that while Golden Bachelor in Paradise could be exciting for fans, it might face logistical and participation hurdles. Only time will tell if the franchise can round up enough singles to make it work. For now, Joan continues to be a supportive and enthusiastic presence in the Bachelor world, whether she’s matchmaking or sharing her candid opinions.
