Virgin River fans convinced Denny is not the father of Lizzie’s baby as they predict season six shocker

The smash-hit Netflix series is set to return for a sixth season later this year

Devotees of Virgin River are abuzz with speculation that Lizzie (played by Sarah Dugdale) will be at the heart of a significant twist as the show enters its sixth series on Netflix.

For years, the love story of Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) has charmed viewers across the globe.

As the cherished community-focused drama gears up for another season, our central pair will be seen preparing to tie the knot, amidst a backdrop of the town’s personal tribulations.

Included within these is Lizzie, who with her new partner Denny (Kai Bradbury), anticipates the arrival of their child in the upcoming season.

Despite Lizzie’s belief that Denny fathered her unborn child, a recent fan theory suggested she might actually be carrying the offspring of her former beau Ricky (Grayson Gurnsey), a theory many seem to think holds water, reports the Mirror.

In discussions on Reddit, the question was raised: “Does anyone else think that Lizzie’s baby is actually Ricky’s? I mean in the books [by Robyn Carr] she’s pregnant with his baby and in the books they are endgame… so who knows?”

The argument was further bolstered by pointing out the narrative chronology: “The timeline of the show just makes more sense that the baby would be Ricky’s?”

And for emphasis, the user expressed their discontent with Denny: “I also cannot stand Denny. He has the personality of a rock.”

Virgin River fans are buzzing with theories, as highlighted by a comment shared by one devotee: “Love all the various opinions. I thought I was the only one that thought Lizzie could be pregnant with Ricky’s baby! I’ve been reading the threads and this is the only one I’ve found!”

However, they also confessed: “Honestly I’m conflicted. I love Ricky and love his character and thought that Lizzie and Ricky were cute together. But after seeing Lizzie with Denny I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Concerns have swirled around Denny ever since he disclosed his diagnosis with Huntington’s disease, causing some of the brain’s parts to shut down, raising a likelihood of 50 percent chance of passing it to the child.

Echoing the pregnancy suspicions, another fan weighed in saying: “I also think it’s Ricky’s. It wouldn’t really be ok to have her get pregnant with a guy who’s going to die and possibly pass on that disease to their baby. Just too sad.”

A third contributor expressed their preference outright: “I really hope it’s Ricky’s. I can’t stand Denny either. I don’t trust him.”

But another countered by pointing to the timeline, arguing: “It can’t be Ricky’s! He’s been gone way too long.”

With Charmaine’s (Lauren Hammersley) lengthy on-screen pregnancy raising eyebrows about Virgin River’s vague chronology, viewers are left pondering whether Ricky and Lizzie had time to conceive before his exit in season four or if upcoming episodes will tackle the grim prospects of Lizzie and Denny’s child possibly inheriting Huntington’s disease.
