On Sunday, October 13, CBS will be the place to be when the highly anticipated second season of the hit series Tracker makes its fall debut. Less than six months after the first season ended, Tracker returns with a series of episodes, with the first episode of the new season bringing Colter to another mystery to solve. In Episode 1, titled “Out of the Past,” Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw will “investigate the strange disappearance of a missing family whose car was found abandoned on the side of a road in the Arkansas woods.” However, in the show’s second episode, the titular savior may need to save his own life.

The star power of the Hartley-led series is boosted by the addition of Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles, who plays Colter’s brother, Russell Shaw. The Colter-Russell reunion will take place in Season 2, Episode 2, titled “Ontological Shock,” with the official synopsis reading: “When Colter suddenly disappears while searching for her missing father, Reenie enlists the help of her older brother, Russell (Jensen Ackles). New images released from the episode show Russell, after responding to Reenie’s call for help, teaming up with Colter in hopes of solving the mysterious disappearance.

Russell and Colter’s relationship has been rocky throughout Tracker’s run so far. After a troubled childhood, Colter blames Russell for his father’s death. Ackles’ Russell first appeared in Episode 12 of Tracker Season 1, where Colter teams up with his estranged brother, Russell, who enlists his help in tracking down his former Army colleague, who has been missing for weeks. strange behavior. Although the pair didn’t have an easy time on screen, Hartley still enjoyed his time working with Ackles:

“Jensen and I have known each other for a long time, we’ve never had the chance to work together. Jensen was perfect for Russell. It’s a character that’s been built so well in the books and even more so than what we did on the show. And then Jensen just took it to the next level.”

A lot has changed for Colter heading into the new season. First, the award-winning star has lost one of his most trusted hands behind the scenes in Robin Weigert’s Teddi Bruin, who has left the series. Teddi’s departure will be handled by Reenie to fill the void she left. Colter will also be going through some changes in his personal life with the arrival of Floriana Lima as Camille Pickett. Described as “Haunting, compelling… Camille has been Colter’s on-and-off lover for at least the past 10 years,” Lima’s Camille will bring some spice to Colter’s Life. In addition to Hartley as Colter Shaw and the rest of the cast mentioned above, Tracker Season 2 also stars Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin, Eric Graise as Bobby Exley, Aliyah Brooks as Amy, and Erik Gow as Craig King.
