Chicago Fire star hints things are about to get ‘awkward’ for one central couple
While we came into Chicago Fire season 13 hoping that Carver and Violet could overcome the obstacles in the season 12 finale and get back together, a quick reunion proved to be a no-go and we’re starting to wonder if the ship can sail.
Carver returns to Chicago with a new woman in his life and while things between Carver and Violet remain frosty, Violet eventually decides to put herself back there which leads to her meeting a charming new man in Flynn.
While Carver may be back on the market after Tori left town, fans have immediately begun to open their hearts to the possibility of him getting back together with Violet. However, it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing the spark between the pair rekindle anytime soon. In fact, according to Chicago Fire star Jake Lockett, it sounds like what fans should expect is for things to get awkward pretty quickly.
“I feel like there’s an opportunity there, but now that Flynn’s come along,” Lockett told TVLine when asked about the possibility of Carver and Violet’s relationship veering away from the cold interactions and avoidance. “So I’m looking at it from a 20,000-foot perspective. It feels like it could get awkward pretty quickly.”
Things may have been awkward between the former couple, but that doesn’t mean the feelings they shared have disappeared. In fact, in Lockett’s eyes, it’s hard not to imagine Carver still being in love with Violet.
“Oh my gosh. I think it’s going to be hard not to be after the way their relationship went last season. I think it’s going to be hard to let that go and, in a few months, completely get over something like that. I think it’s something that’s going to take a little bit of time.”
So does time heal all wounds? Well, that’s certainly what fans are hoping for. While we love Flynn, there’s no denying that Carver and Violet are the real end goal here, and now that Tori’s out of town, we’re one step closer to the reunion we’ve been waiting for.
That’s not to say we think a Carver and Violet reunion will happen right away, after all, Carver has to deal with his breakup with Tori and Violet is in a new relationship, but we’re optimistic that the pair will find their way back to each other at some point this season!
