SEAL Team Star Ray Parry Teases ‘Struggle’ Over Family ‘It’s Going to Be Interesting’
Ray Parry (played by Neil Brown Jr.) has a tough road ahead of him in the remaining episodes of SEAL Team season five and beyond. While his relationship with wife Naima (Parisa Fakhri) has never been stronger, the CBS and now Paramount+ drama could still have some challenges.

This season sees Ray come to terms with his PTSD and open up about his mental health to the team and his wife Naima.

However, the officer is still in recovery and may never fully recover from his trauma.

In a new behind-the-scenes interview on the show’s official Paramount Instagram page, Neil hinted that his personal struggles could continue into the next season.

“One of the main things I’ve loved about Ray over the past five seasons is his ability to endure and grow,” Neil explains.

“And to realize that he’s not the all-powerful superhero that everyone expects him to be.”

Over the past few weeks, Ray has come to terms with how his time on Bravo Team has begun to affect his mental state.

“Dealing with PTS has been a struggle for Ray,” Neil reveals.

Ray is currently seeing a therapist to address his trauma, but his demanding role on Bravo Team threatens to hinder his progress.

Fortunately, he showed some positive changes last season and hopes to not be in as much danger when he takes the field next time.

“Therapy is a positive thing for anyone and everyone,” the star continues.

“I also like how he’s handling his family life. He’s one of the few people who has a good, positive family life.”

“I’m recovering,” he tells her. “But I’m not healed.”

With just two episodes left in the current season, Ray can hopefully continue to focus on his recovery before Bravo is sent on his next dangerous mission.

“And they still have their struggles,” Neil continues.

“I think how he deals with that will be one of the interesting things to see from Ray this season.”

Neil, who is a regular on TV, was born to a father who was a US Marine, so he has some personal insight into the military mindset.

The star also joked: “There are some similarities between him and me, but he’s a much better person.”

After moving from CBS to streaming on Paramount+, SEAL Team season six has yet to be confirmed, but hopefully there will be more positive developments for Ray and the rest of the team.
