Jenna Elfman Will Guest Star on ‘Will Trent’: PHOTOS (Exclusive)

Will Trent Season 2 Welcomes Jenna Elfman to the Cast, ET can exclusively reveal!

The 52-year-old Dharma & Greg star will return to ABC in episode 5 of the hit drama, playing Edie Reynolds, the new Director of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI).

“She’s a formidable leader, responsible, serious, decisive, rule-abiding without being emotionless,” ABC revealed of the Fear the Walking Dead actress’ character. Additionally, it appears Reynolds wasted no time getting down to business with the GBI, quickly taking charge of an investigation involving GBI Deputy Director Amanda Wagner (Sonja Sohn).

In a photo released by ABC and Disney, Elfman and Ramón Rodríguez — the actor who plays the show’s titular character — stand side by side at what appears to be a crime scene. Another still shows the actress in a character photo, wearing a lavalier blouse and olive green jacket.

Elfman will appear on April 2, and the description for the episode reads: “As threats to Amanda escalate, Will investigates, narrowing down a list of potential suspects. Amid the tension, Amanda is forced to confront moments from her past. Meanwhile, Ormewood struggles in Gina’s absence.”

Will Trent follows Rodriguez’s character, who was abandoned as a child and forced to fend for himself alongside Angie Polaski (Erika Christensen) in Georgia’s foster care system. Despite being dyslexic and having endured hardships throughout his life, Will becomes a GBI agent and uses his keen observational skills and personal history to help him solve cases.

The show — which saw a huge viewership increase between its first and second seasons — has lined up a slew of high-profile guest stars for its second season, most recently American Fiction actor John Ortiz and The Traitors’ Phaedra Parks joining this season. Ortiz, 55, will play Will’s uncle, while Parks, 50, will play a character not so different from herself at the center of the GBI investigation.

In a new clip released on Instagram, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star says she’s playing Adela Blakely, a “cold-blooded ex-wife of Atlanta.”

“Green is the color of money, baby. Okay, obviously I’m not a jealous person,” Parks says in the clip from Tuesday’s episode.

In February, Christensen, 41, appeared with her co-stars at a Television Critics Association panel and said that while there are currently no active plans to bring one of her Parenthood co-stars on, it’s something she’d love to do.

“Oh, that’s a great idea. Sure, if someone’s ripe for the part,” the actress said.

Will Trent airs Tuesdays on ABC at 8 p.m. ET and the following day on Hulu.
