Bridgerton’s Jonathan Bailey Teases Return to Set for Season 4 Filming

Jonathan Bailey may be busy promoting the first Wicked film, but the actor’s recent comments about Bridgerton were certainly music to the ears of fans as the actor revealed some details about Season 4 during a recent appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

During the Wicked press tour, the actor spent some time in New York City, where he was able to stop by the NBC late-night show. Of course, Bailey couldn’t stop without being asked about reprising his role as Viscount Anthony Bridgerton on the Netflix hit.

During the November 13 episode, Bailey acknowledged his impending return, telling Meyers that he’ll be “back” on set “by Christmas.” But before anyone could read too much into the holiday reference, Bailey continued, “We’re actually having a family reunion next week.”

Whether that means Christmas will play a role in Bridgerton Season 4 or if Bailey means he’ll be filming holiday scenes remains unclear, but it does sound like he’ll be filming sooner than expected. The actor noted to Meyers that his return is “so exciting.”

When Meyers stated that performing on the show never gets boring, Bailey commented, “No, it changes every year, you know, every two years… and yeah, it’s great to be a part of it.” He went on to add, “And there’s a lot of room for new people to come in and Luke [Thompson] and Yerin [Ha] are going to be great.”

Bailey continued to talk about the cost by reaffirming his previous comments, stating, “I’ll always come back.” As previously reported, Bailey has repeatedly hinted that he will be sticking with the show for the long haul after starring in Season 2 alongside on-screen love interest Simone Ashley, who plays Kate Bridgerton.

As fans know, Season 4 of the series will explore the love story between Benedict (Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Ha), who meet at Violet’s (Ruth Gemmell) masquerade ball. Disguised by a mask, Sophie’s true identity is a working-class member of society who is hidden under the guise of the Lady in Silver who seduces Bridgerton’s second brother.

Bailey’s comments about his return to the set are just the latest Bridgerton-related tirade from the star, who revealed that his on-screen horse in Wicked is the same horse he plays in the Shondaland series. In other words, Bailey couldn’t escape the world of Bridgerton if he wanted to. Luckily, he didn’t.

Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming season of Bridgerton as it continues to take shape, and let us know what you hope to see from Anthony in Season 4.
