Tracker Season 2 Episode 5 Spoilers: Something Supernatural?

Next week on Tracker Season 2 Episode 5, you’ll get a chance to watch “Preternatural,” a story that might feel a little different. So what does preternatural mean? For those unfamiliar with the term, there are at least some similarities between it and supernatural. “Preter” here means beyond what’s normal, while supernatural takes it to a whole other level.

Now that we’re done playing with human dictionaries, why not discuss the story itself? According to the Tracker season 2 episode 5 synopsis, the title here alludes to a specific element of Colter’s upcoming case, where some sort of psychic power may actually be important in what you’ll see: “Preternatural” – Colter takes on the task of finding a missing teenager with unique psychic abilities in a tough mining town, on the CBS Original Series TRACKER, Sunday, November 10 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/8:30-9:30 p.m. PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.

So, is this power actually real? Or is this just a case of people believing whatever they want to justify the outcome? The disappearance of this teenager could cause complete chaos in the town, especially when you stop and consider how the community feels about them on some level.

We know that at least in the early part of this season, the Justin Hartley series has sold itself in part on its suspenseful resolution as well as its guest stars. Now, it’s likely to focus more on the cases going forward. How do you make each case different? Well, this isn’t the only show under the sun that’s faced with such questions; it just has to find some unique ways to tackle them.
