Kaley Cuoco on Parenting Woes: ‘I Finally Get Why Parents Dread Daylight Saving Time’

Kaley Cuoco, mom to 19-month-old Matilda with fiancé Tom Pelphrey, has now joined the ranks of parents frustrated by daylight saving time. The Based on a True Story star recently shared how the clock change has made bedtime a challenge in her household, offering a relatable insight for many other sleep-deprived parents.

On Monday, November 4, Cuoco, 38, took to Instagram to describe her newfound understanding of why parents often “complain” about daylight saving time. The time shift, which occurred the previous day, has made it tough to keep her young daughter on a consistent sleep schedule.

“I finally understand what parents were always complaining about regarding their kids and daylight saving time,” she wrote over a candid photo of herself with a tired expression, clutching a cup of coffee. “Now I know. I get it. I see you. Why is the world doing this to us?”

The former Big Bang Theory star’s photo captured her playful frustration: hair partially covering her face as she shot the camera a tired but amused look. Cuoco went on to repost a humorous video from the Instagram account Big Time Adulting, where Caitlin Murray echoed the shared parental struggle, calling the clock changes a “direct assault on parents of young children.”

In the video, Murray jokes about the endless days parents endure due to the time shift, saying, “By 11 a.m., some of us would have already been awake with our children for 42 hours.” Cuoco added her approval of the sentiment, clearly amused by the relatable parenting woes.

The actress also shared a video of Matilda, who, despite looking clearly tired, was resisting a nap in her highchair. “I wish she would admit she’s tired,” Cuoco captioned the clip, showing Matilda yawning as she held a juice box. “Look at those yawns… Look at them! WHY ARE WE AWAKE?”

Cuoco and Pelphrey recently celebrated Halloween with Matilda, dressing up as each other for the holiday. Cuoco donned a blue NFL jersey, fake beard, and a baseball cap to impersonate Pelphrey, while he sported a blonde wig, pink Nike sweatshirt, and white slides as a light-hearted tribute to her. Meanwhile, little Matilda looked adorable in a rainbow unicorn costume, capturing the holiday spirit alongside her parents.

This year, Cuoco’s experience with daylight saving time offered her a new perspective on the challenges of parenting, showing her fans that even Hollywood stars face the same sleepy struggles when it comes to their kids.
