Will Trent Takes First Season 2 Break (When Will It Return?)
Will Trent just started Season 2 but has been on hiatus. Why is that, and when will new episodes return?
Like all TV shows, WILL Trent Season 2 has been delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes hitting Hollywood in 2023. That has delayed production until later in the year, with ABC deciding to postpone the shows until mid-February.
Since its debut, Will Trent has been well-rounded in storylines, from Will chasing the bomber who killed a friend to Angie struggling with returning to the force. It’s been a strong start, so it came as a surprise to fans that after just three episodes, the show has been set to go on hiatus for a few weeks.
One reason is that ABC isn’t running a normal schedule this year due to the strikes, with many shows only having 10 to 13 episodes. We don’t have an exact episode count for Will Trent Season 2, but it’s likely to be just 13, and most of it may not be finished when it premieres.
So ABC is pushing back episodes to air without a break in April and May. It’s frustrating, but it’s another sign of how the strikes have wreaked havoc on the networks’ schedules.
When will Will Trent return?
The show returns on Tuesday, March 26 with Episode 4, “It’s Easier to Handcuff a Human.” The promo sees Will and Faith investigating the disappearance of several college students that seems to be linked to a supposed supernatural being.
Will Trent isn’t alone, as The Rookie and The Good Doctor will also return on Tuesday, March 12. Both shows will air their first episodes of their current seasons. ABC has yet to confirm a Tuesday, March 19 airing date, so it’s a short break for fans, but hopefully Will Trent will make up for it when the show returns.
