Reenie Has No Intentions of Breaking Colter’s Trust in ‘Tracker’ Season 2: “She Knows He Has Some Insecurities”
In this week’s episode of the hit TV series Tracker, we saw seasoned rewarder and survivalist Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley) travel to wine country with his best friend and confidante, Reenie (Fiona Rene). Reenie enlists Colter’s help after a missing woman’s case comes up while the lawyer enjoys some of the perks of owning her own firm. Surrounded by wealthy executives at a wellness resort in Napa, Colter puts aside his objections to wine tasting to help Reenie solve the mystery of the disappearance. However, Colter’s life is full of mysteries and Reenie will help uncover just how many of those mysteries in the future.
Season 1 made it clear that the Shaw family is not a normal, normal family, and the events surrounding the death of the family patriarch, Ashton Shaw (Lee Tergesen), only exacerbated the divide. Rene was asked by TV Insider how her character could help Colter solve these mysteries. The actress responded by noting that Reenie wouldn’t delve into things that Colter wouldn’t let her.
“I think Reenie has a stance, especially with Colter’s vulnerabilities. She knows he has some insecurities. She never pushes his buttons because that would destroy their trust. I think one thing that they have in their trusting relationship is the fact that she doesn’t pry or poke or push. She lets him share when he’s ready to share. And I think some of the best relationships are that way, a lot of it is, ‘Let me know I’m here, but I’m not going to push.'” Jensen Ackles plays Russell Shaw, Colter’s older brother. However, for much of the first season, Russell is the prime suspect in the murder of his father, Ashton Shaw. Colter’s mother, Mary Dove Shaw (Wendy Crewson), seems to be the thorn in her sons’ side for reasons that have yet to be revealed. Russell works for a private military contractor, Horizon Group, and Rene suggests that the organization will likely be at the center of things at some point in the future, saying, “Shady. Shady. I think that’s going to trickle down a little bit later on, at least I hope so. I wasn’t in the room. But I think there’s a lot of layers to the research that Russell and Colter put out that Reenie is taking control of to help research with Bobby (Eric Graise) and Velma to really see if this is going to be an issue in the future.”
Amidst all the mystery and secrecy that marks Tracker. The show’s focus is on the affection and love shared by the individuals who help Colter pursue his goals. A prime example is the yet-to-bloom romantic dynamic between Colter and Reenie. While the pair genuinely love each other, it doesn’t seem like a relationship will happen anytime soon. “I think he knows Reenie needs more than that, and he wants that for her because I think deep down, he loves me too, and you want the best for the person you love, not just what you want. So, I say, the door is closed… [with] an ellipsis,” Rene recently expressed about the couple.
