“Yerin Ha Reveals: Luke Thompson’s Bridgerton Character Inspired by a Beloved Jane Austen Hero”

Yerin Ha, who stars as Sophie Baek in the next season of Bridgerton, has teased what fans can expect from the Netflix show. While attending the premiere of the upcoming series Dune: Prophecy, Ha shared that her co-star Luke Thompson will be reminiscent of an iconic Jane Austen character. The romantic drama is currently filming in the UK. Read on to find out what the Bridgerton star had to say!

Yerin Ha on Bridgerton Season 4 During a break from filming Bridgerton Season 4, Ha walked the red carpet in New York City for Dune: Prophecy, in which she plays Young Kasha. Naturally, the actress was asked about the upcoming season of Bridgerton and the love story between Sophie and Thompson’s character Benedict.

When asked if the new season will include any pop culture references, Ha told TV Insider, “It’s funny because there’s a scene, and I actually said to Luke, ‘You’re giving the Darcy guy vibes, 100 percent.’ For me, it’s Pride and Prejudice. I don’t think the showrunners think that way, but for me, I think Pride and Prejudice.”

Fans on social media are hoping that the actress may be referring to the infamous lake scene with Colin Firth in the 1995 British adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. The fourth series is based on Julia Quinn’s An Offer from a Gentleman, which also features a lakeside courtship scene. However, the book is more of a Cinderella story, with the main couple meeting at a masquerade ball, prompting Benedict to search for the mysterious Lady in Silver (Ha).

Produced by Shonda Rhimes, each season of Bridgerton focuses on the love story of a different Bridgerton sibling. They are named alphabetically from A to H. The main cast members of Season 2, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, and Season 3, Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, will also appear in the next series.
