The first person to say, “All good things must come to an end,” was a TV fan.
Last week, CBS’s hit Young Sheldon came to an end, and the final episode of The Good Doctor airs tonight (May 21) on ABC. Before we say goodbye to Dr. Shaun Murphy, the season (thankfully not series) finale of Will Trent and The Rookie will also premiere on ABC (and available to stream the following day on Hulu).
Based on the New York Times bestselling series by Karin Slaughter, Will Trent has been a ratings hit for ABC, with Season 2 episodes being the highest-rated series on both linear and streaming. The Ramón Rodríguez-led drama’s second season finale (Season 2, Episode 10: “Do You See the Vision”) focuses on Will, Faith, and Angie as they, according to ABC, find themselves caught up in a series of cases that a similar pattern links to the murders of several sex offenders. The synopsis also notes that Angie is grappling with an unexpected proposal from Amanda.
The second season ends tonight, but what about Will Trent Season 3? When exactly is the series returning with new episodes? Here’s everything you need to know.
What time will Will Trent air on ABC tonight?
The second season finale of Will Trent airs tonight (May 21) from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET on ABC. The season finale of The Rookie and the series finale of The Good Doctor air from 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET on the channel.
You can stream Will Trent on ABC, the ABC app, or ABC.com (with a valid cable login). If you’ve cut the cord, you can also find a live stream of ABC through an active subscription to fuboTV, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, or DirecTV Stream.
Hulu + Live TV, fuboTV, and YouTube TV are currently offering free trials for new subscribers.
Will Trent Season 2 Finale on Hulu?
Yes! The season finale will be available to stream the following day on Hulu and ABC.com starting Wednesday, May 22. When will Trent return with new episodes?
This is a good and bad situation. While Will Trent has been renewed for a third season, the series is not on ABC’s fall schedule. The network is saving both Will Trent and The Rookie for mid-season premieres, allowing the shows to have a near-uninterrupted run.
“Both of those shows are running at full steam, both in terms of ratings and the performance we’re seeing on Hulu,” Disney Television Group chairman Craig Erwich told The Hollywood Reporter recently. “We’re launching them in January, when we have big advertising platforms around New Year’s Eve, as well as college football and a big Christmas slate. Keeping those shows uninterrupted is just the best way to continue to grow them, which is our goal.” Will Trent and The Rookie are expected to return in January 2025, with both shows potentially running for 18-episode seasons.
