As the star of Bridgerton (and royal named Queen Charlotte), Golda Rosheuvel knows a thing or two about working with exciting new talent. But beyond her acting career, Golda is also an advocate for emerging creatives. Golda, 54, co-owns award-winning bakery Imma in Henley-upon-Thames with her cousin Tona, and knows all about the power of small businesses.
When it comes to Tona, Golda told Grazia, ‘community’ is the secret to the company’s success. ‘With diverse backgrounds, coming from different paths, we’ve brought together the energy of bakers, chefs and a love for baking,’ she said. ‘It all started in 2018 with a restaurant in Mexico, and as things have changed and grown, we’ve found a way to make it through. Baking is a wonderful experience that allows us to be part of a lovely community.’
As a small business owner, Golda has partnered with American Express on their Shop Small campaign. This year, the long-running campaign, which encourages the nation to support their local high street, is running the Champion Small initiative, where card members can nominate their favourite small businesses to win one of 10 business grants worth £10,000.
Golda, who is a judge on the initiative, said she is constantly inspired by the ‘incredible energy and creativity that small and independent businesses create in the UK’. ‘Small businesses bring so much diversity to our communities and are such an important part of my life,’ she said.
