“Justin Hartley Shares Exciting Details on Working with His Wife in Tracker Season 2 – And Reveals Her Episode Debut!”

Tracker had some great guest stars in its first season on CBS, with Jensen Ackles appearing as Colter Shaw’s brother Russell and Jennifer Morrison giving This Is Us fans the reunion everyone’s been waiting for. But there was one casting decision that particularly impressed Justin Hartley, when his wife Sofia Pernas appeared in an episode as Billie, another Tracker. The actor had an interesting comment about how he got Pernas on the show, and he revealed when and how often we might see her again, now that Season 2 is on the TV schedule for 2024.

Justin Hartley didn’t have to ask anyone to get Sofia Pernas to play his reward-seeking rival in Season 1’s “Lexington” (which can be streamed on Hulu or Paramount+, two of the best streaming services). He said on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? (via US Weekly) that it’s one of the perks of being married to an actress: Obviously, I get to have her because I live with her. It’s not even a phone call. … Like, ‘Hey, baby. Come on, we’re going to work.’ But it’s fun to get to work with people that you love.

I’m sure it’s fun to share that interest and have your spouse on set all day, and generally, when actors enjoy each other’s company offscreen, that chemistry can often be felt when the cameras are rolling.

That partnership wasn’t something CBS was happy to end after just one episode, so it looks like Sofia Pernas will be back on Tracker for Season 2 and sooner than you might realize. Justin Hartley said: She’s coming in next week [October 27]. She’s been back a couple times. It’s been great. It’s been great to have her. She’s a light, and we’ve got some of the best guest stars on our show.

Sofia Pernas — who can be found on the 2024 schedule later this year as part of the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 cast — will return in the episode “Bloodlines,” according to Futon Critic, which will see Colter Shaw and Billie Matalon team up again when a high school baseball star goes missing. Not only that, but Billie will appear “a few” times this season, according to Justin Hartley.

That great news comes as Jensen Ackles debuts Season 2 on October 20 and Jennifer Morrison will direct at least one episode in Season 2 — just like their This Is Us co-star Jon Huertas did during the show’s first cycle — and after the Lizzy bombshell dropped in the Season 1 finale, Justin Hartley said he thinks her character will return, too.

As for whether Melissa Roxburgh will reprise her role as Colter’s sister Dory, Justin Hartley said production on The Haunting Party—which will air on NBC as part of its 2025 TV schedule—will wrap before Tracker, so she could appear later in Tracker’s second season.

Catch Sofia Pernas reunited with her real-life husband on Tracker, which airs Sunday, October 27 at 8:30 p.m. on CBS after 60 Minutes. Episodes can also be streamed the next day with a Paramount+ subscription.
