‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Release Date: Big Clues About When We Think It’ll Stream on Netflix

‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Release Date: Big Clues About When We Think It’ll Stream on Netflix Bridgerton season 4 is in production, with the new season focusing on Benedict’s love story with Sophie.

Production began last month, and if you didn’t know, Halo star Yerin Ha has been cast as Sophie opposite Luke Thompson’s Benedict.

Now, we’ve gathered every clue we have about season four’s release window… and we’re going to have to wait a while.

Netflix takes about 2 years between each season of Bridgerton to release new episodes. A previously leaked production list shared that the series will film from September 2024 to April 2025. According to Forbes, post-production on season 3 took 14 months. That means if they get that timeframe right, we could see a fourth season of Bridgerton as early as June 2026. Now, if they happen to speed things up, perhaps the show could be released even sooner than that!

Shonda Rhimes, the show’s executive producer, has previously spoken out about these lengthy delays. She shared that Netflix, and specifically the way they produce television, is partly to blame for the long time between seasons.

“They [Netflix] want to write everything, and then they want to shoot everything, which is — very antithetical to how I learned to do television,” Shonda told Variety in May 2024. “Now I think that’s how it works. “We’re really working on the idea that if this is the industry we’re in, how can we make it faster? And so we’re really thinking about things like permanent sets and things like that that will really help us speed up the process,” she continued.

The Variety writer then pointed out that if they were doing eight seasons of Bridgerton, the final one wouldn’t be released until 2034. Shonda responded, “Yeah. It takes a lot of time, and that’s frustrating. To me, we have to be able to write and produce the show at the same time, and that’s not necessarily possible at this point. It should be, but it’s not.”
