The Chicago Fire love triangle involving Violet, Carver, and Tori is leaving fans plenty frustrated. They’re weighing in with predictions about how things will shake out for the characters… because, right now, it feels like a slow burn to romance.
Will Carver and Violet Get Back Together in Chicago Fire Season 13?
Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) broke up in the Chicago Fire Season 12 finale, titled “Never Say Goodbye,” and in the Season 13 premiere, he rejected her. Will the couple get back together this season?
In a Reddit discussion about Chicago Fire Season 13, fans shared what they think is to come for Violet and Carver’s relationship.
One fan kicked things off with their Violet and Carver prediction. “I think it’s clear that they’re going to confess their feelings and get together either in the mid-season finale or by the end of the season, but the show obviously isn’t going to let them get there without a lot of drama first,” they noted.
The fan continued, “For Carver, he saw Tori as a temporary rebound but as she told Violet, she let him go once and she doesn’t plan on doing that again. So now she’s manipulating Carver because she’s threatened by his history with Violet. She’s telling him how much he needs her, telling him no one knows him better than she does, telling him Violet is messing with his head. It’s classic manipulation tactics to isolate him from others and make him think he’d be lost without her. It’s going to take something extreme for Carver to realize what she’s doing, and it’s probably going to peak in relation to the reckless lifestyle she lives with the drinking and partying, as it’s going to be detrimental to his career. Or she’s going to hurt Violet in some way, which will lift the blinders he has on.”
The fan believes that Violet is “burying her feelings for Carver because she doesn’t want to cause trouble with Tori.” Violet met a new guy, who “was a good samaritan who stepped in, made a point to mention that no one else helped so he did, and gave off a sweet self-depreciating impression when he came back to the firehouse and spoke to Violet,” the fan pointed out. “This is purely a guess, but I think the highlight of him being a good person is to catch the audience off guard when he screws her over in some way. He’s another obstacle on her way to Carver, and whatever comes of this love interest will shine a light on how much happier she was with Carver.”
Another fan noted, “It’s wild how some people can’t see this likely happening down the line. It’s a long season. They always stretch storylines.”
In an October 1 interview with Us Weekly, Lockett explained his character’s relationship with Tori (Holly Hinchliffe). “Sometimes it’s easier to not have to go forward than it is to, you know, deal with the person that you really [are] into,” he said.
Lockett teased of the season, “There’s gonna be some drama coming, for sure,” and hinted at “pretty juicy” episodes with Violet and Carver. “I’m excited for everyone to watch him grow as a human,” he said.
Of course, he couldn’t reveal how things will shake out for the characters. “In a world where they end up together, which I don’t know what that situation is – we haven’t had that in the scripts – I think he just needs someone who’s willing to meet him where he’s at,” the actor explained.
Lockett added, “I think it would have to be a lot more care on her part and willingness to be honest about where she’s at.”
In a discussion about the October 23 episode on the One Chicago Instagram account, fans agreed that Tori is manipulative and bad for Carver and that he’s become a mess. “Tori and Carver are a toxic relationship,” one fan wrote.
Others noted, “Carver is going to miss out on Violet and it’s his fault!!” and “I think Carver needs to man up already and admit he still cares a lot for Violet… and that Tori girlfriend of his needs to go. She’s trouble and she better not hurt him or Violet!”
