The Chicago Fire love triangle involving Violet, Carver, and Tori has fans frustrated. They’re weighing in on how things will play out for the characters… because, right now, it feels like love is in the air.

Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) broke up in the Chicago Fire Season 12 finale “Never Say Goodbye,” and he turned her down in the Season 13 premiere. Will the pair get back together this season?

In a Reddit discussion about Chicago Fire Season 13, fans shared what they think will happen with Violet and Carver’s relationship.

One fan kicked things off with their prediction for Violet and Carver. “I think it’s obvious that they’ll confess their feelings and get together by mid-season or late-season, but it’s clear that the show won’t let them get there without a lot of drama first,” they noted.

The fan continued, “For Carver, he sees Tori as a temporary replacement but as she told Violet, she let him go once and she has no intention of doing so again. So now she’s manipulating Carver because she’s intimidated by his past with Violet. She tells him how much he needs her, tells him that no one understands him better than she does, tells him that Violet is messing with his head. It’s a classic manipulation tactic to isolate him from others and make him think he’s lost without her. It’ll have to be something extreme for Carver to realize what she’s doing, and it’ll probably culminate in her reckless lifestyle of drinking and partying, because in some ways this will be detrimental to Violet’s career, which will open his eyes.”

Fans believe Violet is “burying her feelings for Carver because she doesn’t want to mess with Tori.” Violet has met a new guy, “who is a nice guy who steps in, insists that no one else will help so he does, and leaves a sweetly self-deprecating impression when he returns to the fire station and talks to Violet,” the fan pointed out. “This is all speculation, but I think his highlight as a nice guy is that he surprises the audience when he cheats on her in some way. He’s another obstacle in her path to Carver, and whatever happens with this relationship will shine a light on how much happier she is with Carver.”

Another fan noted, “It’s weird that some people can’t see this happening in the future. This is a long season. They always drag out storylines.”

In an October 1 interview with Us Weekly, Lockett explained his character’s relationship with Tori (Holly Hinchliffe). “Sometimes it’s easier not to move forward than it is to, you know, deal with someone you actually [have a crush on],” he said.

Lockett teased about the season, “There’s definitely some drama coming up,” and hinted at “pretty exciting” episodes with Violet and Carver. “I’m looking forward to people watching him grow as a person,” he said.

Of course, he couldn’t reveal how things will play out for the characters. “In a world where they end up together, which I don’t know what that situation is — we don’t have that in the script — I think he just needs someone who’s willing to meet him where he is,” the actor explained.

Lockett added, “I think she needs to be more mindful of her role and be willing to be honest about where she stands.”

In a discussion about the October 23 episode on the One Chicago Instagram account, fans agreed that Tori was manipulative and bad for Carver and that he was in turmoil. “Tori and Carver are in a toxic relationship,” one fan wrote.

Others noted, “Carver is going to miss Violet and it’s his fault!!” and “I think Carver needs to be a man and admit that he still cares a lot about Violet… and his girlfriend Tori needs to go. She’s trouble and she better not hurt him or Violet!”
