It may be a while before we know when Bridgerton season four will premiere, but the stars are keeping fans updated on the production’s progress with some sweet behind-the-scenes information, the latest of which comes in the form of a Polin-centric selfie.
Stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton have given fans a sneak peek at their return as Penelope and Colin Bridgerton for the upcoming chapter of Netflix’s hit Shondaland. In an image originally posted to Coughlan’s Instagram story and reshared to Newton’s story, the on-screen duo posed for a selfie that Coughlan captioned, “New Year, same hoodie.”
The hoodie Coughlan wore appears to reference a previous social media post shared in December 2022 to celebrate “#ChampagneFriday” while filming Season 3. At the time, Coughlan shared a selfie of herself and Newton wearing matching sweatshirts along with the crew, who were also dressed in casual attire, with the caption, “#ChampageFriday – now there’s merch, I made these sweaters, graphic design is my passion.”
The new selfie of Coughlan and Newton is certainly a sweet treat for fans of the Season 3 main couple, who will be back for more fun in Season 4 as the series shifts focus to its newest main couple, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). Based on the books by Julia Quinn, the series focuses on the romance between siblings in the main family.
As Coughlan previously teased, now that Penelope and Colin have found their happy ending, more lighthearted moments are on the horizon as she revealed in a recent interview that the couple will have more intimate moments in Season 4 as well as include storylines with their “crazy, cute” child, Lord Featherington, who was introduced in the final moments of Season 3.
