Joan Vassos, the star of The Golden Bachelorette, has spoken out after Martha Stewart made disparaging comments about the men she’s been dating on the ABC reality show.
In a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Martha was asked whether she would consider participating in the show and dating a group of men. Her answer was a firm “Absolutely not.” When pressed further about whether she’d change her mind for a lucrative offer—$1 million or even $10 million per episode—her response remained unchanged. “The guys aren’t hot enough,” she stated bluntly.
Joan did not take Martha’s comments lightly and decided to reach out directly to the lifestyle icon. “I DM’d her last night! I don’t know if she has read it yet, but I did. I said dating is hard out there and I had a great group of guys. She doesn’t know them like I know them. I got to know the inside of them as well as the outside, and both are wonderful,” Joan shared in an interview with Access Hollywood.
Joan expressed her disappointment, suggesting that Martha may not have fully understood the qualities that make her suitors special. “I guess Martha Stewart didn’t watch or didn’t see what I saw in them. Maybe you have to be in person, but they were special guys. I feel like everyone is falling in love with them. What’s wrong with you, Martha? I DM’d her last night and am waiting for a response,” Joan added.
Her passionate defense of her suitors highlights the strong connections she has formed during her journey on the show, and it shows how seriously she takes the relationships she’s building.
As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see if Martha Stewart responds to Joan’s message and if she ever reconsiders her opinion about the men on The Golden Bachelorette.
