India Amarteifio plays the title character in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. The 21-year-old actress recently ditched her character’s Regency-era clothes and hairstyle for a more modern look that gave us pause.
India plays a young Queen Charlotte in the spin-off of the popular Netflix series. The Bridgerton prequel focuses on the queen’s rise to power as a teenager. While India is a newcomer to acting (you may have seen her in Sex Education, Evermoor, or Dr. Who), Queen Charlotte is considered the young British actress’ breakout role.
India recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about the new series. For the occasion, she wore a black and silver dress paired with a matching SHUSHU/TONG crop top and black strappy Christian Louboutin heels. She shared the photo with her fans on Instagram, where they were flooded with comments like “You’re amazing🌟”, “You’re amazing girl” and “I LOVE this! xx” The actress made fashion waves when she stepped out to promote the show. At an event in London, she wore a dramatic mermaid dress paired with a bejeweled off-the-shoulder top.
Netflix has yet to announce plans for season 3 of Bridgerton, but Queen Charlotte debuted on May 4. Six episodes not enough? Showrunner Shonda Rhimes and Bridgerton author Julia Quinn have penned a companion novel, available on May 9.
