Virgin River Season 6: Weddings, Babies, and Great Expectations
While it’s unclear when Virgin River will return for season 6, that could be a blessing in disguise. We’ll need time to recover from the shocks of the Christmas episodes.
If the first part of season 5 was full of drama, the Christmas episodes brought even more shocking developments. From confirming Lizzie’s pregnancy to revealing that Brady’s new girlfriend isn’t as trustworthy as she appears.
On top of that, Mel and Jack have officially welcomed two new members into the family: Pony the puppy (a gift that reminds Mel of her childhood dreams) and Everett, Mel’s new biological father.
These are just the tip of the iceberg of what’s to come in season 5. Here are our biggest hopes for season 6 and beyond:
Mel and Jack Get Married
After heartbreaking events like a miscarriage, the couple is in dire need of some fun. And what could be more meaningful than a big wedding for them, the town, and all their fans?
Alexandra Breckenridge shares that she’s been thinking about a lot of details for Mel and Jack’s big day (like their hairstyles). We can also assume they’ll be getting married at their new farm. With Mel’s dad on the scene, he’ll likely walk her down the aisle – but Doc won’t be passing by easily.
Lizzie Welcomes Her Daughter
In the world of Virgin River, time seems to slow down (or not at all). However, no one wants Lizzie to end up in a situation like Charmaine, and certainly doesn’t want actress Sarah Dugdale to have to carry a fake baby bump for several seasons. Hopefully a “time jump” will help her and Denny quickly welcome their baby girl.
Brie and Brady Get Back Together
Although #TeamMike has won hearts with his handsome appearance and sincere personality, many fans still hope that Brie and Brady will reunite. In part 2 of season 5, the moment when the two almost kissed under the mistletoe further strengthened this belief.
In addition, the fact that Brady’s new girlfriend was revealed to be a spy further increases the possibility that the two will reunite. Hopefully, when the truth is revealed at the end of season 6, Brady will come back to find Brie, and she will welcome him with open arms.
Preacher Gets Set Free
Preacher is probably the character who has suffered the most. All of his efforts to find happiness, whether in work or love, have been thwarted. And just as he was settling into his relationship with Kaia, Wes’s body was discovered, threatening his peaceful life.
Hopefully season 6 will bring closure to all the troubles related to Wes. Paige could return to take responsibility, or Christopher could step up – just help Preacher move on to a new chapter in his life.
Cameron Chooses Muriel
Cameron was once unpopular with viewers, but his relationship with Muriel changed his image. However, the sudden appearance of his ex-wife at the end of season 5 created an unpredictable turn. Although he wanted to continue with Muriel, she asked him to think carefully before making a final decision.
Hopefully when season 6 begins, Cameron and Muriel are still together and overcome this challenge.
Mel Has a Secret Sibling
At the end of season 5, Mel’s biological father revealed that he had important information to share with her. Whatever it may be, our hope is that Mel discovers she has a sibling. This will not only enrich the story but also create interesting conflicts in the future.
Doc and Hope Find Peace
After many seasons of dealing with health crises and accidents, it’s time for Doc and Hope to have some peace. The good news is that in season 6, Doc’s clinical trial was successful, giving them both a new lease on life filled with hope.
