What will Jensen Ackles’ return in Tracker bring to the character and story?
Sometimes, you just need your brother. And sometimes, someone calls your brother to come to your rescue when you’re missing.
For Colter (Justin Hartley), it’s the latter. After he disappears while searching for his missing father, Reenie (Fiona Rene) turns to her brother, Russell (Jensen Ackles), for help. And in an exclusive clip of Ackles’ return in season 2 of the CBS drama, it’s clear that Russell showed up just in time.
In the clip, which you can watch above, Russell smashes his brother’s phone, before cutting an RFID chip out of his brother’s back. As for what they’re doing, could it be aliens?
EW also has an exclusive look inside the episode, below, which shows Colter and Russell discussing the proper term for UFOs—”UAP” (unidentified anomalous phenomenon)—among other things. “Colter gets into a lot of trouble, and this young man comes in and saves the day,” star Justin Hartley said of Ackles’ Russell, a role that Hartley said Ackles “brought his own flavor to,” adding, “It was a lot better than we could have imagined.”
Of Ackles, he said, “When you work with someone you like, you tend to have chemistry on camera.”
And that brotherly chemistry will be on full display when Russell returns to Tracker on Sunday, October 20 on CBS, with episodes debuting on Paramount+ the following day. (Season 1 also recently debuted on Hulu.) For more on the episode, watch the video above.
