The first episode of CBS’ Tracker season 2 cleverly hinted that Colter Shaw’s crew would be getting a new member this year. After months of speculation, Tracker season 2 has finally arrived. The cast of Tracker season 2 remains largely the same as the original cast, as Justin Hartley’s hero returns to his reward-and-punishment ways. Colter Shaw is thrust into the world of organized crime as he races to get a family to safety with a dangerous criminal on the loose. After solving his first case and reuniting his family, Colter has new partners, Reenie and Velma, to help him with the rest of the case.
While Colter works to solve the case, Reenie is in the process of setting up her new law firm. When she was founded at the end of season 1, she started her own law firm with Velma’s help. However, the final scene in Tracker season 2, episode 1, “Out of the Past”, suggests that Reenie and Velma will not be the sole members of her law firm for much longer, with plans to expand in the near future.
In Tracker season 2, episode 1, “Out of the Past”, Reenie reveals that she will be calling her new venture the Law Offices of Greene & Associates. However, as Colter points out, her firm does not have partners. When he asks her about them, Reenie tells him that partners are “to be determined”, implying that at some point in Tracker season 2, Reenie will expand her firm to hire law associates. Since Reenie works for Colter, since she sees him as a client, anyone she hires will be contributing to the rewarder’s team.
As of now, Colter Shaw’s original team consists of only five people. Velma Bruin, who is his primary caseworker now. She used to work with her wife, Teddi, but with Robin Weigert leaving Tracker, she may be taking on this responsibility alone in the future. Meanwhile, Bobby Exley does the research and high-tech work. Finally, Reenie is Colter’s legal expert on the team. It’s a pretty small group of people, but everyone is very efficient. While Colter certainly gets the job done with the help of the team, it wouldn’t hurt to have more resources to work on his cases.
Adding more people to Colter’s team will only help him in the long run. Anyone Reenie hires at her new law firm will contribute to Colter’s cases. They will also benefit Reenie as her client list grows and she needs more people to get the job done while she prioritizes Colter. As Velma’s new partner, Reenie is actually replacing Teddi in Tracker season 2. It’s unknown exactly when Colter’s group will expand, but it will likely happen through Reenie’s expanding business.
