Virgin River: Alexandra Breckenridge Speaks Out to Calm Fans After Controversial Statement
On August 30, Alexandra Breckenridge, the lead actress of the Netflix series Virgin River, shared her opinion on a plot point in the show that made many fans unhappy. This forced the actress to speak out in response.
Season 6 of Virgin River is expected to premiere in late 2024, although Netflix has yet to announce an official release date. Fans are eagerly awaiting and every comment from the show’s stars has become a hot topic of discussion. On the August 30 episode of the podcast I Like You Very Much, Alexandra Breckenridge and Zibby Allen (as Brie) chatted with Marco Grazzini (as Mike Valenzuela). However, one comment from Alexandra has left many viewers unhappy.
The trio discussed Brie and Mike’s relationship in season 5, when Brie slowly got closer to Mike after breaking up with Brady over his drug dealing.
What advice would Alexandra Breckenridge give to the characters?
“If I could give Brie one piece of advice, it would be: Don’t get back together with Brady!” Alexandra candidly shared. Her co-stars laughed, while Marco Grazzini replied: “The heart has its own reasons. What can you do? It’s one of the wonders of being human.”
The actress posted the podcast on Instagram, but many fans were not happy with her views on Brie and Brady’s relationship.
The online community is divided over the fate of Brie and Mike
Some fans think Brie and Brady should reunite: “We need to find someone worthy of Mike,” one viewer commented, implying that Brie should get back together with Brady. Those on “Team Brady” were disappointed with Alexandra’s opinion.
However, another audience supported the actress’s point of view: “I agree! You can’t keep forgiving someone over and over again,” commented one user, believing that Brie shouldn’t get back together with her ex.
Alexandra Breckenridge Responds to the Outcry
In response to the mixed reactions from fans, Alexandra spoke out on Instagram: “I’ve said this before, I don’t know why people are making such a big deal out of it,” she explained. “In a podcast episode, I just said that if you lived in the Virgin River world, not a real-life viewer, you would give Brie the same advice. So try to look at it from that perspective.”
She ended with the message: “Calm down, it’s just a movie, not real life.”
