Damon’s Firing Paves the Way for Blake Gallo’s Replacement on Chicago Fire Season 13

Damon’s Firing Paves the Way for Blake Gallo’s Replacement on Chicago Fire Season 13

Jack Damon’s firing has opened the door for Chicago Fire Season 13 to bring in a beloved character to replace Blake Gallo. Damon joined the series after Derrick Gibson’s abrupt departure, but he’s been nothing but trouble since his arrival. Damon’s longevity is partly due to his relationship with Severide, making it difficult for Stella to take credit for Damon disobeying her orders out of loyalty to her husband. However, after Damon ignores her orders during a rescue mission on a speedboat, making the mission more difficult, Stella can’t keep quiet.

Damon leaves Firehouse 51, Stella needs a replacement on Truck 81
While Stella has reported Damon’s misconduct, it’s unclear whether he’ll be fired. Thanks to Mouch’s intervention, Commander Dom Pascal decided to put Damon back in the floater pool – a sensible decision given Damon’s record of insubordination and lying. While Damon would no longer be an official member of Firehouse 51, his departure opened the door for a new character, providing the stability the fire department needed instead of the trouble it had been dealing with.

Kylie was the perfect candidate for Stella’s team
With Damon gone, Stella was short a firefighter for Truck 81, and she needed a replacement as soon as possible to ensure efficiency in missions. Luckily, Stella’s protégé Kylie was ready to return to Firehouse 51. Not only was Kylie someone Stella could trust, but they had a mentor/mentee relationship that had been built up over the years.

Although Kylie had previously turned down a job at Firehouse 51 to prove herself in another unit after passing the firefighter exam in season 11, Stella may now be able to convince her to return. Kylie’s return would not only solve Stella’s staffing problems but also bring stability to the team during a time of great change.

Why is Kylie the perfect choice to replace Gallo?

Stella had a hard time finding a stable replacement for Gallo. Derrick Gibson and Jack Damon both didn’t stick around long enough for the team, which made her a difficult choice. However, Kylie is the ideal choice because she’s used to taking orders from Stella and won’t cause problems like Damon did.

Kylie was also the first member of Stella’s Girls on Fire program, creating a special bond between the two. Now, with experience gained in other units, Kylie is ready to play a vital role at Firehouse 51, providing the stability the team needs.

Stella can’t continue to put the wrong people in Truck 81 if she wants the team to function effectively. Her long-standing and trusted relationship with Kylie ensures that she has a stable member in case of emergency. As such, Kylie’s return promises to be a breath of fresh air for Chicago Fire season 13 during a time of great change.
