NCIS is back with another exciting season that features several returning actors in what could be its most exciting season in a long time. NCIS season 22 will follow the team as they navigate Jessica’s departure from NCIS following her move to REACT at Camp Pendleton. The season will also address a number of cliffhangers that were teased in the NCIS season 21 finale.
NCIS season 22 will also be the first season without any mention of David McCallum, who played Ducky for over 20 years. Season 21 gave him a touching tribute episode that featured many references to Ducky’s old NCIS colleagues. While season 22 will not be the same without Ducky’s presence, the procedural’s ever-evolving cast shows that it is able to persevere even as beloved characters leave. Luckily, season 22 will feature many familiar NCIS faces.
Gary Cole as Alden Parker
Actor: Gary Cole was born in Illinois, and he had his first major role in playing Jack “Nighthawk” Killian in Midnight Caller. Cole has a versatile range and has appeared on stage, as a voice actor, and in several shows and movies. He is best known for his roles as Kurt McVeigh in The Good Wife and Alden Parker in NCIS.
Character: Alden Parker joined NCIS when he took over Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ role as team leader and supervisory agent in season 19, following Mark Harmon’s departure from the show. He is a loyal and trustworthy agent, but he has trouble opening up emotionally. NCIS season 21 revealed he has unresolved trauma regarding the death of someone close to him.
Sean Murray as Timothy “Tim” McGee
Actor: Sean Murray was born in Maryland, and he broke big in Harts Of The West where he played a supporting role as Zane Hart. He is best known for his role as Timothy Mcgee in NCIS, but he also had a prominent but limited role in JAG, where he played Danny Walden. He is the stepson of NCIS’ creator, Donald P. Bellisario.
Character: Timothy McGee was introduced first as a guest star in the middle of NCIS season 1 and was eventually promoted to a series regular. As of 2024, Murray is the longest-serving actor in the NCIS franchise. Timothy is a sweet agent who has experienced a lot of growth since he first started. In earlier seasons of NCIS, he was very timid and awkward, but he has since become a solid and reliable character.
Brian Dietzen as Dr. Jimmy Palmer
Actor: Brian Dietzen was born in Illinois, and he had his first major role in My Guide To Becoming A Rockstar, where he played the drummer in the group. Dietzen has appeared on both stage and television and has also written several NCIS episodes, including Ducky’s tribute episode. He is best known for playing Dr. Jimmy Palmer in NCIS.
Character: Jimmy Palmer has appeared on NCIS since 2004, but he only became a series regular in 2012. He often appeared next to David McCallum’s Ducky as Jimmy was a medical examiner’s assistant before he became the Chief Medical Examiner following Ducky’s retirement. Jimmy is a resilient and cheerful character who has faced a lot of sorrow in his life but continues to persevere in the face of difficulty.
Katrina Law as Jessica Knight
Actor: Katrina Law was born in Philadelphia, and she broke big in The Rookie: CTU, where she played Kate. Law has an extensive portfolio that features a large variety of roles, from theater performances to reality television shows. She is best known for her roles in Spartacus, Arrow, and NCIS.
Character: Jessica Knight is a passionate and driven character. She joined NCIS in season 18 and has since proven to be a highly loyal and intelligent character. NCIS season 21 revealed Jessica was moving to start her dream job as a REACT Chief Training Officer.
Wilmer Valderrama as Nicholas “Nick” Torres
Actor: Wilmer Valderrama was born in Florida, and he is most recognized for his role as Fez in That ’70s Show, which launched his career in Hollywood. Valderrama has had an extensive career since his role in the teenage sitcom and has appeared in a number of shows, movies, and plays. His most prominent current role is playing Nick Torres on NCIS.
Character: Nick Torres is a tough character who struggles with letting people in. He is also arrogant and often thinks that he knows what is best, but he is trustworthy and follows strong moral principles. He had a notable relationship with Ellie Bishop, which ended after she left the team in season 18.
Diona Reasonover as Kasie Hines
Actor: Diona Reasonover was born in Michigan, and she broke big in Clipped. She has appeared in several shows as minor characters and, prior to NCIS, was best known for her appearances in Drive Share. Reasonover joined NCIS in season 15 and became a series regular in season 16 as a replacement for the departing Abby Sciuto.
Character: Kasie Hines shares similar characteristics to Abby, her forensic scientist predecessor, as both characters are quirky and very friendly. She also has a very warm demeanor and is best known for her one-liners. Kasie has the closest friendship with Dr. Jimmy Palmer.
Roscoe “Rocky” Carroll as Leon Vance
Actor: Rocky Carroll was born in Ohio, and he broke big in the drama Roc. Carroll has an extensive history of acting and has appeared in several projects both in major and supporting roles. He is best known for his work on Chicago Hope and The Agency.
Character: Leon Vance has been the permanent Director of NCIS since season 6 following Jenny Shepard’s death. Vance is a trustworthy director who believes in his team and always tries to do what is best for their safety. He has also appeared in several NCIS spinoffs, including NCIS: Los Angeles.
NCIS Season 22 Supporting Cast & Characters
Joe Spano as Tobias Fornell: Tobias Fornell is NCIS’ most important supporting cast member. Despite not being a part of the main cast, he has appeared on the show since the NCIS pilot. Fornell is an FBI agent who helps NCIS with cases, and he is one of Gibbs’ longest friends.
Margo Harshman as Delilah Fielding McGee: While Delilah does not appear on NCIS very often, she is an important character in the show because she is Tim McGee’s wife. The two dated for several seasons and finally got married in season 14. Although she is not a recurring cast member, she is routinely mentioned by Tim.
