Virgin River: Surprise, season 6 could finally be broadcast earlier than expected

Good news for Virgin River fans! While season 6 was initially not supposed to be released before 2025 on Netflix, Ted Sarandos, CEO of the streaming platform, confirmed that it could finally arrive sooner than expected.

A few weeks before season 5 of Virgin River was released, Netflix renewed the romantic series for a sixth round, whose filming in British Columbia began later than expected due to the strikes that shook up all of Hollywood last year. Following this production delay, several elements suggested that the fiction adapted from Robyn Carr’s novels would not return before 2025, just like Wednesday and Stranger Things. While Virgin River was initially not among the programs announced for this year, it seems that the broadcast date has now been brought forward.

Virgin River: Season 6 could arrive by the end of 2024

During his investor conference, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos cited Virgin River among the series that should return to the streaming platform by the end of 2024. “Right before the end of this year, we have the return of Squid Game, the return of Emily in Paris, a new season of Selling Sunset, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Diplomat, Virgin River, Love is Blind, Ryan Murphy has an incredible new season of Monster. And all of this is coming right before the end of the year,” he revealed. While the return of Virgin River seems to be confirmed for the end of this year, no specific release date has yet been announced.

Virgin River: New actors in the cast of season 6
The return of Virgin River will allow Netflix subscribers to find Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson in the shoes of Melinda Monroe and Jack Sheridan. Tim Matheson (Vernon), Annette O’Toole (Hope), Colin Lawrence (Preacher), Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine), Sarah Dugdale (Lizzie) will also be back, as will Mark Ghanimé (Cameron), Kai Bradbury (Denny) and Susan Hogan (Rose), introduced in season 5. The cast of the next season has expanded with the arrival of two new actors: Gigi Neil (Dead Boy Detectives) and Rachel Drance (The Hardy Boys), the identities of their characters having not been revealed.
