SEAL Team heartthrob and veteran of some of television’s most beloved series, David Boreanaz, has hinted at the possibility of returning to one of his iconic roles.
Best known for his role as dark vampire Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off, as well as FBI agent Seeley Booth on the hit crime series Bones, David recently wrapped up seven seasons as Bravo Team leader Jason Hayes on the CBS and Paramount+ dramas.
Following the show’s emotional finale last Sunday (October 6), David got fans’ hearts racing by hinting at the possibility of reprising his role as Seeley in a potential Bones revival.
While nothing is set in stone, he admitted that he’s “considering” the idea, despite his previous comments about preferring to move forward rather than revisit past roles.
“Nothing has really changed,” he said. “When I really look at it, it’s the kind of show that’s loved and loved, and I don’t want to say pointless, but it’s pointless entertainment when you really think about it,” the Express reported.
“The dynamic between those two characters is really fun to play, and if there’s happiness and joy in it, then it’s easy; it’s not hard or difficult.”
Bones, which has had an impressive 12 seasons, would “obviously” return as a limited series if it were to be rebooted, David shared candidly.
He also mentioned that while it’s not his current focus, it’s still something he would “consider.”
David went on to share how much he misses his time working with Emily Deschanel, who played Temperance ‘Bones’ Brennan alongside him.
“I miss her sunshine, her smile, she would push the boundaries of a scene,” he said fondly.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been mad at Emily. It was just an energetic thing, and I miss her a lot. I speak very fondly of her, and we still talk.”
Bones fans may not have to wait long for an on-screen reunion, as David and Emily’s off-screen relationship hints at a possible return to the series in the future.
But for now, the actor’s schedule is free as SEAL Team has wrapped, and there’s no word on what his next move will be. Still, we’re all excited to see if he surprises us with a return or expands into new territory.
