Will Trent Season 3 BTS Photos Reveal First Look at New Character
Will Trent’s newest character for season 3 has been revealed in a new behind-the-scenes image from the show’s set. Based on the popular series by Karin Slaughter, Will Trent debuted on ABC in 2023, following the titular character played by Ramón Rodríguez as he solves cases for the GBI. After a tense and eventful season 2, Will Trent season 3 is now in the works with a projected premiere date early next year. There are still many questions about the new season, but it was confirmed in August that Gina Rodriguez has joined the cast as Marion Alba, a confident Assistant District Attorney.

Rodriguez has now taken to Instagram to share two new behind-the-scenes images from Will Trent season 3, revealing the first look at Alba in action. The first image shows Rodriguez posing with Rodríguez and Angie Polaski actors Erika Christensen, while the second shows Marion in Trent’s office alongside Rodríguez and Faith Mitchell actors Iantha Richardson. Check out the actor’s post below: While nothing official has been revealed, it’s possible that Rodriguez joining the Will Trent cast could mean a new romance is on the horizon. Rodriguez will be a main cast member in season 3, meaning Marion will appear in most episodes and play a prominent role in the story. Early details have revealed that, despite Marion and Will getting off to a rocky start, they were forced to work together on a case and this could be the only thing that brings them together, potentially leading to a romance. Will Trent season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, with Will arresting Angie for her role in covering up Lenny’s death. It’s possible that Marion’s story in season 3 will intersect with Angie’s long-running story in some ways. While Rodriguez’s recurring status on the series gives Marion some protection, the events of the season 2 premiere suggest that the character isn’t entirely safe. A potential love interest of Will’s died unexpectedly in the season 2 premiere, and it’s possible that Marion’s life could be in danger as season 3 nears its end.

Rodriguez has an impressive track record, including starring in Jane the Virgin, which ran for five seasons from 2014 to 2019. Other titles on her resume include Deepwater Horizon (2016), Annihilation (2018), and Awake (2021). So, in terms of acting and experience, Rodriguez’s casting is a big win for Will Trent.

As for how Marion will fit into the character dynamics established in Will Trent seasons 1 and 2, that remains to be seen. So far, the show has received positive reviews, in part due to its clever character development and engaging emotional arcs, and hopefully season 3 will continue that. While there are still questions about Marion, the Will Trent cast is clearly having a good time together behind the scenes, which is a positive sign.
